COMMON CORE KIDNAPPING: Parent Calls 911 After Public School Won’t Release Kid From Test

Supporters of Common Core have encountered a public relations nightmare recently thanks to technical glitches, student boycotts and a slew of irate parents who are refusing to allow their children to sit for standardized tests.

However, last week marked the first time officials at a taxpayer-funded school have allegedly attempted to confine a student for a Common Core standardized test after her parent arrived on campus to remove the child from class.

The incident occurred at Brookshire Elementary School in Winter Park, Fla., reports the Orlando Sentinel.

The unidentified mother showed up at Brookshire Elementary to pick up her daughter because she wanted to opt the fifth grader out of a Common Core-aligned writing test.

School officials informed the mother that they would not allow her daughter to leave, according to the mother as well as a second parent, Jacqui Myers, who was at the school.

Myers, the parent of

I swear someday it will happen. The Left will claim authoritarianism an illness requiring more government.

The government owns your children. Proverbs 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. The government knows what it has to do to perpetually remain in power. Dewey knew that too, that is the reason we have government schools. Abolish the public school system and voila! No more property tax, no more Education dept., no more indoctrination. Simple, right? Then why has it not been done?

They're DEMOCRATS! The very definition of stupid! The Left side of the IQ Bell Curve.

The absolute bottom students, those incapable of any intellectual attainment gravitate into the Education field. They are the ones most eager for "income equality" and the rejection of the rewards for individual attainment.

Jeb Bush probably clothes-lined the kid as he was trying to leave the school.

I fail to see what the problem is the standardized testing. What am I missing here? We were all complaining that the schools are not performing and now they are trying to bring kids up to a certain level and we’re still complaining?

Ah, the government. Kidnapping homeschoolers, kidnapping sick kids, and holding their public school kids for hostage. What a wonderful legacy.

You need to inform yourself about the content of Common Core.

Besides, standardized testing does NOTHING to address the abysmally deficient government education system.

Common Core started out as a simple standards as to what American kids should know at each grade level, but it quickly morphed into a grotesque set of rules and a federally imposed curriculum that dictated what was to be taught and how. This is how you get english literature teachers being forced to teach science to students because science articles are to be used in english classes. Or you get ridiculously convoluted analytical methods being used that take minutes to work through to solve otherwise trivial math problems. Also, the common core methods hold back the most advanced students who can learn by themselves at their own pace, because all students must learn by the federally dicatated curriculum and use no other instructional curriculum. This is actually a violation of existing federal law concerning education.

Commie core. I keep thinking of that video with the school kids being forced to sing the Obama song “Obamas gonna change it, rearrange it..” Blatant child abuse.

Off topic for a moment, but I'd like to bring your attention on the following. Presently, there's an election for Mayor of Chicago going on between leftist Rahm Emanuel and leftist/LaRaza supporter Jesus Garcia. The leftist Hispanics are supporting Garcia, “one of their own.” Race rules in elections, regardless of the fact that both candidates are leftists. And if Obama succeeds in replacing us with illegals as “the New Americans”, he's going to have a war on his hands when the leftist hispanics in this country revolt against the Communist-Socialist-Marxist Party of the USA, for total control and a leftist Hispanic as President for life in our White House.

So, we Americans had better have a plan of action of our own on how we're going to handle an invasion of hispanic illegal aliens not to mention the muzzies and other revolutionaries, because the left and the muzzies sure do!

We need to start getting together in groups such as the Oathkeepers...www.oathkeepers.org and other like-minded organizations and strategize on what we can do. Either we turn off our electronic play toys and put aside our thoughts of sporting events, fun in the sun or what color we're going to paint the bedroom wall, and join forces with like-mined people/groups who are willing to fight for the salvation of this country, or do nothing..and lose this country. Let not the blood shed by soldiers of wars past BE FOR NAUGHT..they who fought for us so that we may be free! This is for real, people..no one is going to save us but ourselves. Get the word out to everyone you know about Obama’s plan for the invasion of illegals to replace us..Google Obama’s New Americans Task Force to get the details of his plan, AND PASS IT On. Join up with others who love this country and will fight to keep it. Check out www.oathkeepers.org and join up. Pray for strength, swallow your fear and save this country!

Kudos to the mother for her attempt to ignite a 21st Century Civil War (this time between the States and the Regime)!

Yes, because it is a federal takeover of a State right. Education curriculum and the management of schools is within the purview of the States according to our Constitution. This is yet another attempt by the federal gov’t to usurp State powers in order to gain more for itself. I’m surprised as a conservtive you haven’t figured this out.

Besides being constructed from some of most egregious tenets of progressivism, these ‘tests’ are an attempt by local school boards to “check off” government requirements. In many cases Federal monies are tied to the level of tests given. IOW, in order to get Federal bribes, these ‘educators’ are content in assisting progressive liberals in government to indoctrinate and pacify your children. That ‘up to a certain’ level you ask about isn’t the kind of ‘level’ that I’d think you really want for your children.

If you don’t see a problem with that, then I do not know what to tell you.

The absolute bottom students....gravitate into the Education field

When I was in college, there were two types of kids in the School of Education.

1. Kids who truly wanted to be teachers (my dorm RA was one, IMO, he'd be successful no matter what field he picked). These comprised 20-25% of the students, again, IMO.

2. Kids who'd failed out of their chosen major (usu. Science or Engineering) and fell into Education because it was easier. These comprised the rest of the student body.

My college graduated about 400 "Education" majors a year. You can do the math.

Interestingly, the other "default" major for washouts, at least at my college, was Business. This says something, I think.

And let’s not forget about the billions spent on this boondoggle. Pearson is more than likely using some of their “free” money to line certain politicians reelection coffers.
