LODI – Pancakes, eggs and maple syrup were Sunday morning staples in the Lagunas home.
It was a tradition the family adopted to stay connected after Bernardo Lagunas was deported to Mexico, leaving behind his wife and four young boys nearly three years ago. It was normal and American. It was safe.

Last night, an Austin, TX TV reported another sad story about a Mexican woman who has been here illegally for 20 years and has had three children here. She was lamenting that the judge’s stay was delaying her application to stay here as a parent of US children.
The interview was in SPANISH, with voice-over translation. Could anyone live in the USA 20 years and not learn English if their children were speaking it at home? I smell fraud.

That statement reminds me of the black family that moved in next to me. Yes, my neighborhood is predominantly white, which is IMO why they moved into it, they wanted to get away from crime. Funny thing is, 2 years ago his SUV got broken into in his driveway and brand new DVD system was stolen. That seemed kind of ironic to me. So much for living in a safe white neighborhood I guess.
Kid just couldn’t make it here even though we provided his family Section 8 housing, free education, free meals at school, Medi-Cal, EBT card, EITC income transfer, Obama phone, and on and on.
So much for having a fancy DVD system displayed in your SUV.
Can you believe that?Illegal alian gets deported and the media writes about how painfull it is to the family.
I don’t know what the media are crying about,but I’m sure this illegal will return within a week after his departure from the country.

I believe she was here 20 years and didn’t bother to assimilate anything - except her butt into our entitlement system. And she didn’t need to habla English to do that. We have translators and bilingual entitlement giveaway government employees now.
I don’t have a problem in living next door to a black family whose principal breadwinner works, pays taxes and has skin in the game (mortgage, etc.) that isn’t supplemented by entitlements in any way.
