Here's an amusement park r ride no one has yet dared create, so far. Just a reminder. Yo're going to take this ride whether you like it or not.
Buckle in, Hang on tight, try to enjoy the hairpin curves, the zero gravity whirls, being held upside down to help loosen the currency that they're trying to pry loose from you, while Obama heads off to the course to develop strategy.

Gas and petroleum demand is pretty inelastic. The oil industry should flex is muscle and keep gas price high regardless of crude oil market. What are people going to do? Stop driving and shutting down industry?
But this won’t happen because of gubmint intervention and the bs anti collusion tyrannical laws.

OK, I understand OPEC wanting the pipeline through Syria.
What I dont understand is how getting rid of Assad improves their chances of making the pipeline a reality.
Depose Assad and the rebels take over. I dont see the rebels taking over as improving stability in Syria. Without a stable government in Syria the pipeline will not be built.

If oil price war is on, then Moscow cannot afford to lose oil control territory in Syria. Smh. The perception war aside as to which party is belligerent or imperialistic, it seems like the question is whether Obama intends to fight and let alone win this war.

Unions playing OPEC cartel redux. There is no end in the trail of oil price extortion and gauging.

Denying Russia oil control is priority. Get ourselves the control is the second one.

Because Assad is in bed with Iran. True.
The rebels are no fans of the Saudis or other member states of OPEC either if I read the news correctly.
So unless the members of OPEC are willing to fight the rebels for control of Syria after Assad is gone I dont see an upside for them in deposing Assad. They will simply have supplanted a dictator that is unwilling to cooperate with them for a chaotic state with fighting factions that is unwilling to cooperate with them.

Yup, heck of a place to maintain a pipeline that can be blown with an RPG.

Nah, it’s mostly Shell that has it’s prices above $3.50 while 76, Mobil, Arco were below $2.50. The same idiot unions who control Shell refineries were the cause. Those figures I stated were 2 weeks going when the Shell station in downtown had the very same prices until today for 2 weeks straight while everyone is way down.

You may remember that after Sadams fall in Iraq one the major problems with Iraq becoming self-sufficient was the constant sabotage of the oil pipelines and bandits punching hole in the pipes to steal oil.
They couldnt keep the pipelines in service because of the constant damage being done to them.
I cannot see Syria being different.
