Quanell X, the head of Houston’s New Black Panther Party and one of the agitators who has gone after everyone from George Zimmerman to Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, has almost always sided against the police in officer-involved shootings of suspects.
He is now singing a different tune after personally going through “shoot/no shoot” training with the Missouri City Police Department.
X played the role of a law enforcement officer responding to calls in a number of different scenarios, and had to chose whether to use his gun (a realistic training weapon that fires man-marker rounds), a taser, or not to employ any force at all.

Not to worry, this leopard ain’t gonna change his spots. The next time there is a POlice shooting of an African-African black person of color that can be exploited, Quanell X will be right there. Saying whatever he needs to say in order to get the “community” outraged enough to fire up the neighborhood and engage in a little undocumented shopping.

Don’t know. There’s a gun shop here in town(Reno NV) that offers a similar set up with pseudo weapons that recoil and target marking capabilities that you and the trainer review. I haven’t taken it but from what I hear, it’s as good or better than some of the LEO shoot/don’t shoot set ups.

There was a case a couple of years ago here in Houston where a guy defended himself against a minority. The media went to QX, as they always do, and he said he looked at evidence and agreed it was justified (self-defense). You could the jaws of the media drop just then. From that, I always that this guy had some potential to be reasonable.
I give him credit for doing it publicly. There was one situation where a guy was coming toward him with a knife. He “shot” the guy. He was asked when he saw the knife. He said “To be honest, I never saw the knife. He could have had a lollipop and I would have used force.”

Glad to see he changed his tune. I went through a handgun class not long ago through http://www.shootersplus.com training where we had lot’s of “shoot - no shoot” scenarios and it was very “humbling” to say the least. You literally had split seconds to choose whether or not to shoot.
