I think there was a typo in the article. ..it should've read training moderate Syrian rebels to fight with the Islamic State, shouldn't it?

It’s all one and the same. All sides are rotten to the core. They are all bad. I don;t understand who the US is getting in with since nobody is a good guy nor moderate.

Unbelievable. They just keep right on doing it. They’ve got audacity.

They must think “who cares what the American people think - we want a war, we’re sending US troops, the law be damned”.

Really unbelievable.

War criminals, should all be tried for war crimes.

Absolutely no rationale in terms of self-defense of the US, they just “let a Congressional committee know”, even after the fact, and voila, we’ve stoked up a nice little war.

I have no idea why they want to do this now and what they hope to gain other than giving more weapons to the bad guys.

Exactly WHO are the “Moderate” Syrian Rebels??

One large group of “Moderates!” we were backing declared allegiance to ISIS six weeks ago.

Dear President 0bama:

Send John McCain. He's got experience, gravitas and attitude.

As much as I hate to admit it, he's probably the Republican closest to your way of thinking when it comes to choosing up sides in the never-ending WOT. (You wouldn't be related, would you? No, I guess not.)

I mean, it's like some people can go the the races and spot a winner just seeing the colors the jockey's wearing, never mind the horse. Others, they look at the wrong end of the horse and end up losing every time.

That's you and Sen. McCain. Two of a kind. (Hey, maybe you and the Senator could sing that one at next year's Gridiron Dinner, a duet like Frankie and Dean--or was is Sammy?--did many years ago. That would be a hoot! And if it comes off well, you could encore with "Together Wherever We Go.")

Whatever you do, please don't even think about nominating John McCain for SecDef if that job comes open again. Sure, he's a hardliner just like you, but you need some diversity, and not just with age, sex, race, religion, etc., etc., etc. Diversity of opinion, political philosophy, background, education is something to strive for if you want a cabinet that looks like America.

I will make myself available. When can we get together and discuss the military's needs?

/s/ J. D. Galt

There is no need to send troops.

Just a small-yield nuke dropped on Raqqa will end ISIS forever.

It will happen. Guaranteed. These are clan-based societies that are in a constant state of war. Give them skills, and they will one day use them against a target we didn’t envision (like us). Isn’t this what the Democrats trumpet about our involvement in “training the Taliban” during the soviet occupation of Afghanistan?

There are no good guys in the ROP countries. Giving money and arms to bearded savages, thinking that they will use them against our enemies, is stupid.
In the middle east, the enemy of our enemy is our enemy.
This is stupid.

Even though their beloved “moderate rebels” are defecting to ISIS... this regime is still pursuing that madness.

In..effing..credible.
