A dog was found abandoned at a Scottish train station next to a suitcase filled with it's belongings and now the local animal welfare charity are looking for tips into who is the neglectful owner.
The dog, a male shar-pei named Kai, was found sitting with a leash attached to a banister at the Ayr railway station on Jan. 2, according to the Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
"Kai is around two to three years old and is a lovely dog with a nice nature," Scottish SPCA Inspector Stewart Taylor said in the group's release.
The group reported that the suitcase contained a dog bowl, food, a pillow and toy -- although that doesn't clear the owner from wrongdoing.

My town sadly.
99% of Ayr folk aren’t that cruel. Even the winos and junkies love their dogs.
Maybe the dog was just going for a holiday?
My thought as well. The dog was running away from home and wanted to frame his owner, whom he dislikes. Who would suspect that it wasn’t a case of abandonment?
The word “lovely” is overused in the UK, IMHO.
Someone likely discovered that Shar-peis’ almost always have skin conditions that require more maintenance than most dogs. My Dad had one, and she was a sweet dog, but required alot of attention to manage her condition and keep her comfortable.
And “brilliant” and “daft”!
Some local jerks abandoned their mastiff when their house was repossessed. They left him locked in the basement with no food or water.A neighbor heard him howling and rescued him.
It could have been left by an elderly person who could no longer take care of it and did not know what to do.
Shar-Pei Diem. (Seize the wrinkled dog)
The last one that I met mumbled constantly. I fell in love with it. I told the owner (former co-worker) that if I ever fell off of my motorcycle at speed and needed skin grafts, that he’d be getting a call.
Aw geeze.......I hate stories like these
LOL!
Doggie ping.
I bet he’ll find a good home.
And there he sits, wondering where his people went.
Sickening.
Why waste time and money to look for the owner? The owner could have just dropped it on the side of a busy highway, or drowned him. Clearly it was someone who cared enough about the dog to leave him somewhere he would be found... and he was. Not seeing the “cruelty” angle here, myself.
Quick shout-out: I was being mean to you about the British Isles not too long ago. I was just pokin’ ya. I didn’t mean a bit of it.
GOD WILL STRIKE YOU DOWN FOR THAT!
(secretly giggling, trying not to let you know)
