Democrats are looking to reclaim their Senate majority in two years, but after losing nine Senate seats in 2014, their path back to that majority won't be easy.

Florida: Will Marco Rubio be running for a second term?
Jeb Bush's decision to run for president complicates Rubio's own interests for higher office. With many of the freshman senator's most reliable donors lining up with Bush, it's increasingly possible that Rubio will opt to run for reelection. But what's bad for Rubio's national ambitions would be good for the GOP's chances of holding onto the swing Senate seat.
If Rubio chose to stick in the Senate, it could complicate the math for Democrats. Would second-term Rep. Patrick Murphy or newly elected Rep. Gwen Graham want to risk their developing House careers for a shot at the Senate? Would Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz consider a run? All their odds of running would be higher if this was an open seat. And Rubio's high-profile advocacy against the president's deal normalizing relations with Cuba should help him rally the Cuban-American GOP base in a reelection contest.

Marco Rubio will run for the Senate again. And he will win.
Rubio needs to be primaried.
“Would Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz consider a run?”
Senator. Debbie. Wasserman-Schultz.
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
On the plus side, Patty Murray wouldn’t be the dimmest bulb in the Senate anymore.
Marco is not ready for primetime. He needs to stay in the Senate. He has zero chance to get elected President but he might have a chance to keep his senate seat if he can get his constituents to forget about the gang of 8.
He's kidding, right? They wouldn't really be that stupid, would they?
I agree Rubio should be primaried. He’s an amnesty shill. However, he’d be tough to beat. Maybe a challenge in the primaries would help tighten him up a bit on immigration.
Rubio’s Gang of 8 amnesty shilling is unfortunate, because he seems fairly conservative on other issues. He’s a lot like the Bushes on immigration. Meaning? He wants to turn Mexico into our 51st state.
Sick to death of both of these parties full of asshats and their media enablers.
Deb is obviously a lock in her House district (63% of the vote last Nov in a bad year for Dems generally).
But statewide, that’s probably a different race. I’m sure she’d have plenty of campaign money, and of course benefit from a huge Dem GOTV effort in Florida as it’s key to their POTUS wins.
Naah, he needs to go. He betrayed the very people who put him in office in under 6 months. He’s just like Charlie Crist.
I supported Col. West to primary him, but unfortunately, West just relocated to Texas. Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam would make a decent challenger, and he’s fresh off a solid second term victory statewide.
Rubio is just like Crist? Sorry, but that's pretty absurd.
The article also mentions Mark Kirk (GOPe - IL). I think Kirk can be sent packing. If not in the primary, then certainly in the general.
I wish it was. Crist lied to the public for years about who and what he was (or is). Rubio ran against him as the hero of the Conservative grassroots. It was all a lie. He gets to Washington and rips off his superman suit and he’s just a clone of the Orange Menace underneath.
Well his Facebook page was ugly after that gang of 8 deal. I think Marco may well have a hard time getting re-elected if they can get someone good to go up agains’t him.
Kirk is a liberal Republican. However, you are talking about Illinois. Maybe you would prefer the person who previously held his seat.
We will not have a conservative Senator in Illinois until we run a conservative candidate in Illinois. Otherwise, it is just another same ol’ same ol’ GOPe RINO.
Perhaps Alan Keyes can try again.
