LAWRENCE – The Princeton Area Community Foundation awarded $575,000 in grants this year to 26 nonprofits as part of its Greater Mercer Grants program, officials announced Monday.

The grants, which are made possible through individual donors, private foundations and corporate grantmakers, provide immediate assistance while also supporting projects that could eliminate such needs in the future.

"While Mercer County is diverse, there are many substantial problems that we must address together,” said Michelle Cash, vice president of grants and programs. “Through our Greater Mercer Grants, as well as the work of many others in the community, we are helping to fill voids and meet needs. It is our hope that we can bridge the communication gap, strengthen neighborhoods and foster the relationships that create opportunities that had never existed."

while also supporting projects that could eliminate such needs in the future

Which likely means they want more government funding for these things
