Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) was projected to defeat Independent candidate Greg Orman, according to CBS and Fox News.
The Kansas Senate race heated up in September, when Democrat Chad Taylor withdrew from the race and attempted to remove his name from the ballot. According to the AP, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach declared Taylor didn't fully comply with a state election law in submitting his letter of withdrawal, and the dispute was taken to the state Supreme Court. The court ordered the state to remove Taylor's name from the ballot.
A September poll suggested the court's decision might have boosted Orman's campaign.
But Roberts wasn't without support. On Oct. 28, the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund endorsed Roberts for Senate. The political action committee of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) launched a six-figure ad buy supporting Roberts in Kansas in late October, citing the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya....

Thank. You. God.
We can also thank Biden for announcing that Orman would side with the Dems.
The least he could do to show his appreciation is to move back to Kansas. Sheesh.
Agreed. It appears as though the Republicans have the Senate. Fine. If they don’t impeach Obama immediately for treason, subversion, malfeasance, and high crimes against the Republic... It was all for naught.
I didn’t vote for him, but I hope his new found conservatism holds.
Really? I thought Palin’s candidate (Rob Maness) went down in flames in Louisiana.
He did succeed in giving Landrieu another few weeks to try and save herself.
too bad Maness didn’t reach the runoff instead of the RINO
One out of many, buddy. Nobody in baseball bats 1,000.
It takes 60 votes to impeach. Which 8 Democrats do you think will side with them?
It takes about 2 years for an impeachment - Zero will be out of office by then (hopefully) We need to concentrate on holding Congress and electing a conservative for President in 2016.
At this point it’s a symbolic gesture without question. Arbitrary immigration orders however might force a few Democrat Senators to explore the nuclear option; especially if they are facing a 2016 election. The process needs to be put in motion ASAP though. If Obama acts on immigration soon, the initiative will be lost, the news will cycle, and Obama will survive yet another pernicious act of treason.
How so? LA has the best primary system in the country, the jungle primary. If Maness hadn't run, it'd be a head-to-head matchup between Cassidy and Landrieau anyway.
Yep. WAY closer than it should have been though. Looks like Brownback should hold on as well, although they haven’t called it.
Brownback 349,564 (49%)
Davis 333,641 (47%)
91% in
Same spread now with 94% in. They both picked up about 15k votes.
Are you aware the Senate does not have the power to impeach?
The first thing the new Congress should do is pass a bill that bans people from entering the US if they have been in a country where Ebola is epidemic, in the last 30 days.
If Obama vetoes the bill, it is grounds for impeachment. I think you will see enough Democrats cross the aisle for that.
They can't convict Obama without a 2/3 vote. I'd be surprised if they could get a majority, let alone 2/3. Probably a dozen Republican Senators would lose their seats if Obama were impeached without being removed.
No, the threshold for removal from office in an impeachment trial is two thirds of the Senators present:
There was so much going against Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback here. The democrats and liberals spent so much time and money. Plus the liberal supremes and other liberal judges that ignored or misinterpreted Kansas election laws to tip this in favor of Orman. You also had the local medias doing their part to ignore or barely mentioning bad news about Orman. The polls were way off but that was probably to discourage Republicans. The democrats also had an astroturf effort going on here that I’m totally convinced involved the DUmmies and KOSmunists hitting comment sections and message boards trying to influence our elections.
Despite all this the good people of Kansas triumphed. There was a huge coordinated effort that went on here because the liberals and democrats thought this was a path to keeping Dingy Harry in charge of the Senate and it failed, big time.
