Antonio Gramsci is a figure of high importance to the development of the left, both in Britain and the United states. While looking into Gramsci, I came across James Joll's book, a clear exposition of Gramscis ideas by a fan of the Italian Marxist. Thus it can be said that the text is a fair account of Gramsci's ideas. And if there is any bias in the texts I've chosen, it's bias in favor -- rather than against Antonio Gramsci.

Lengthy article worth reading. Answers questions on the goals of those leftists who took over the Democrat Party after 1968. and how they have achieved their success in 2008.
Antonio Gramsci converted on his death bed. Where there’s life there’s hope.
Personally, I think Gramsci is a more important, influential figure than even Marx. Marx thought almost purely in term of his economic scheme. Gramsci plotted the attack on the Church and the culture.
Gramsci is the man most responsible for the destruction of western civilization. Or at least, he’s the man who most effectively channeled satan’s instructions.
Never knew that, but it does appear you’re correct. That’s wonderful to hear.
I believe one of the communist radicals of the 1968 democrat convention even quoted Gramsci by saying “now we start the long march through the instituions.” And so they did.
It’s very simple. A society without liberty for most people - they’re to be suppressed and controlled. “For their own good “ of course.
The only free people are those that pull the strings and make the rules. Ask “George Orwell”.
And Republicans and conservative rank andfile sappily goes along with it, either knowingly or unwittingly.
Gramsci is probably the most important thinker for those who want to understand the left’s plans and goals in taking over this country.
The Left played the long game very well.
At the risk of sounding tacky, I can’t put this any other way than this, “Welfare is the KY Jelly of Communism.”

The Anti-Church of Antonio Gramsci

Gramsci advised Marxists to achieve power by democratic means and then to use it to destroy Christian hegemony.
Gramscis principle, French journalist Jean-François Revel pointed out, was that [Marxists] must begin by influencing the culture, winning the intellectuals, the teachers, implanting itself in the press, the media, the publishing houses.
Somewhat surprisingly, Gramsci pointed to the Jesuits response to the Reformation as a model: Marxists had to create a cultura capillare (capillary culture) that would infuse itself into every nook and cranny of the body politic.
Radical leftists in the United States, Europe, and Latin America have adopted Gramscis methods and have made a point of infiltrating churches, universities, and media outlets. Ecumenical movements and peace and justice commissions have grown and have marginalized basic Catholic doctrine. University curricula teach that all cultures must be equally respected even the ones that directly contradict Christian values.
In the name of human rights, secular humanist organizations have promoted policies that have eliminated Judeo-Christian moral restraints.
Liberation theology based on Marxist doctrines and cloaked in Christian vocabulary became a force in many third-world nations.
Note:
Pope John Paul II and Benedict XVI proscribe Liberation Theology as a beachhead of Marxists into the Catholic Church. As soon as Pope Francis took power, he wide open the doors of the Church to the leaders of the Marxist Liberation Theology.
Thank you for your post # 15. Gramsci prescribed Communist conquest from within, and his prescription has largely succeeded in this country and elsewhere.
yes indeed,
one of his very very few truthful statements,
elections have consequences
(which is why I get so exasperated with people who stay home in protest for not getting their candidate nominated ... I feel pretty much the SAME way! ..... .but these are NOT ordinary times and we do not just get ordinrly (loyal American) Dems when we stay home.......not at all. Look at what we got, for goodness’ sakes! ust look at the consequences of millions of similarly-frustrated and disappointed people not casting votes! Pray for America, we have another 2 years of this destruction from On High....)
