Religious Liberty Under Attack as City of Houston Subpoenas Church Sermons

AUSTIN, Texas -- The battle over Houston's non-discrimination ordinance has moved from the ballot box to the church pulpit, as a group of pastors fights efforts by the city to subpoena their sermons and private communications with church members.

The law, passed last June, was criticized because it could be used to allow men to use women's bathrooms, among other objections. Opponents to the law had collected more than 50,000 signatures to place a repeal measure on the ballot this November, far more than the 17,269 required. However, the City of Houston moved to invalidate the majority of the signatures, arguing that some the petition gatherers had not met the legal requirements, thereby invalidating the signatures they gathered.

This is one of those "truth is stranger than fiction" moments.

Another fine example of inclusion, diversity, open mindedness, and tolerance at work. Ever notice how these terms are only used in certain context usually?

For example, "privacy" which today is only used regards sexual and reproductive issues, while you're subjected to warrentless searches at airports, police can interview a minor in a public location without the guardians consent or knowledge, video cameras everywhere, the deliberate spreading of malware by the government to achieve better penetration without warrant of course, massive electronic collection without warrant of course (just say it's for "national security" then the Constitution no longer applies), polygraph exams for jobs, the ability to attach a GPS tracker without a warrant... where exactly is this "privacy?" Oh, I know, I can have an STD treated and keep it from my wife, who can get sterilized and keep this from her family, while the daughter can cross state lines to have an abortion without parental knowledge or consent... that's about all "privacy" means. The homosexual agenda as well as American feminist movements can be thanked for this, after all, they are the ones that led the charge when it came to perverting what these ideas actually mean.

The city of Houston isn’t doing this - the fascist, lesbian mayor is.

They aren’t subpoenaing sermons any more, just speeches. You know, those speeches that preachers give on Sunday mornings?

The churches should have their congregations get a collection of Nazi and Communist publications and dump them at city hall.

In Texas, we have many proud, self reliant and patriotic people that still believe in the traditional moral values this nation once held.

However, don’t be confused, in Texas because of the massive immigration over many years, both illegal and from other states like California and Illinois (where they are decimating their economy), as well as abroad (that’s why you see mosques being built everywhere), you basically have blue cities: http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s—uk5J6SMS—/1857qaput58u3jpg.jpg

Don’t be surprised if Texas goes blue all together eventually. Realize that in California as in New York or even Illinois, you have many conservative people, their voices are simply extinguished by the loud scream of places like LA, San Fransisco and San Diego in CA, or Chicago in IL, or New York City in IL.

Once locusts eat everything barren and crap all over the place, they move on to some new promising location.

The Attorney General of Texas should issue a warrant for her arrest.

This is an opportunity for the pastors to lead the churches in sincere prayers for the Mayors salvation.

Prayer can have amazing results.

That would require the heart of Christ. Most Christians really have a hankering for Old Testament.

The city of Houston IS to blame. Sadly, more people there worship money than God, so the wicked have become the face of Houston. What God-worshiping family will come to live in that modern Sodom?

They know what happened to Lot and his family when the love of riches drove Lot to choose the rich land between Sodom and Gomorrah. He lost everything when God’s punishment fell on those wicked cities in the form of fire and brimstone from heaven. God hasn’t changed his mind about evil.

The City Council passed it, the Mayor advocates it, the City Attorney is carrying it out. The public voted for these people.

A perfect example of why you should never let a queer/freak/pervert hold any position of power. She will use the “Ronnie Earle” school of sue and extort tactics to harass anyone who displeases the she/he/it. They will have unlimited resources, the government treasury, to sue, appeal, sue, appeal, etc. until the victim folds or dies.

Unfortunately for the military a few years of queer leadership combined with the assignment of “political officers” to all units at all levels and the military will be completely destroyed.

Well, maybe not. They would need some big rental trucks to get all the leftism out of a library.

The mayor is a reprobate. God has given her over to a reprobate mind. See Romans 1. Prayer is futile. If she does attend a church, know that it won’t be a God fearing church, but a sodomite welcoming den of iniquity.

“...clouds they are without water, carried about of winds, who fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots.” (Jude 12)

Twice dead.

I don’t know about “nonsporting,” but I sure as hell am particular about the kind of person for whom I will offer a prayer
