When I discussed the recent beheading on another thread, I said that it was the first non-family beheading. There was the news guy and may have been some honor killings in the past.
"We are appalled by what happened in Oklahoma. We grieve for the victim of this terrible crime and her family.
"We are equally saddened that this tragic incident of workplace violence was committed by a very sick and disturbed individual who slandered the Prophet Mohammed by pretending to be a Muslim, but who was not actually a true Muslim, since Muslims don't believe in killing.
"We also extend our concerns and sympathies to our peaceful Muslim citizens who now face the risk of revenge attacks by racist domestic terrorists like the Ku Klux Klan and various Tea Party-inspired Islamophobes who would spread discord and dissension among the people of our country.
"But make no mistake -- in keeping with our shared American values, I say that the good people of this nation will not tolerate such violent bigotry, and I assure all those who would commit such hate crimes against innocent Muslims that justice will be swift.
"Peace be with you all. Allahu Ak . . . I mean, God Bless America."
I remember this beheading of the wife of the Muslim TV guy. It didn’t get a lot of news coverage at the time. But clearly fits the pattern.
