While, undeniably, the Islamic State has shown itself beyond the pale with its beheading of innocents and its massacres of soldiers who have surrendered, let us not forget that our allies abetted these monsters, while adversaries we have designated as terrorists and state sponsors of terror were fighting them.

While some may argue the enemy of my enemy is my friend, I maintain the enemy of my enemy IS STILL MY ENEMY. Other than Oil, which we ignore, we have no interests in the ME.

Bleep 'em.

“we’ll win it only by fighting and by showing the [enemy] that we’ve got more guts than they have; or ever will have. We’re not going to just shoot the sons-of-bitches, we’re going to rip out their living Goddamned guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We’re going to murder those lousy [enemy] c***suckers by the bushel-f***ing-basket. War is a bloody, killing business. You’ve got to spill their blood, or they will spill yours. Rip them up the belly. Shoot them in the guts....”

Perhaps...but not in the sense that I’m thinking. (1) to keep the economy churning, and (2) as a lead-up to an election.

So, your thought is probably right, although there might be a purely defensive war someplace in history where both sides had ‘just cause’.

Right.

The UN is the worst idea ever.

It invites and prolongs the killing.

You mean like the 18 Trillion Dollar war on poverty? ;-)

Don’t get me started.

THAT has led to redefining poverty. Poverty now includes: a place to live, utilities, phone, internet, computer, cell phones, medical coverage, food, clothing, transportation, education, and, lest we forget, sex change operations.

If my depression era dad, who often took karo syrup sandwiches to school for lunch, had had that kind of Snap access, he wouldn’t have had any cool stories to tell about actually having absolutely nothing in the cupboard to eat.

Too bad that Obama didn’t have the sense to send a few A-10s to take care of that whole column of targets.

“War’s very object is victory, not prolonged indecision.” So said Gen. MacArthur in some of the wisest counsel the old soldier ever gave his countrymen.

AND then the Drooling Moron TRUMAN fired him..

Where are the AC-130s? Did I somehow miss their deployment and use against this caliphate?

Why drop an occasional 500 pounder or a Hellfire missile when you can shred their formations with some real firepower?

If they are not there, it tells me are totally unserious, Dude.

Consider Turkey. With its 400,000-man army, 1,000 planes, 3,600 tanks, 3,000 artillery pieces and self-propelled guns, the Turks, the largest military power in the Middle East, could make hash of the Islamic State. Why have they not done so?
Pitchfork Pat supported and supports the Syrian hereditary dictator Assad, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, China's aggression throughout the Far East, Iran's nuclear weapons plans, and Iran's mullahcracy -- and all are enemies of the US.

There's no need to ask why he does.

Forgive me, but, why does he?
