It was a decision that attracted a firestorm of criticism, but President Barack Obama has admitted that going to play golf just minutes after delivering a statement about the beheading of a US journalist two weeks ago did not look good. "There's no doubt that – after having talked to the families, where it was hard for me to hold back tears listening to the pain that they were going through – after the statement that I made, that you know, I should've anticipated the optics," he said. The 'optics', which included front page pictures of Mr Obama smiling and relaxing in a golf buggy at a course on Martha's Vineyard where he was on holiday, were met with a barrage of unfavourable news headlines and scornful commentary from both Republicans and Democrats.

just imagine how bad foley’s optics were.
It doesn’t matter what he does... and he knows it.
Obama's entire life has been nothing but optics (hope, change, smoke and mirrors).
And if the press wouldn’t hound the ole boi, who would have known? ...right?
The “bad optics” was watching Foley get his head cut off Captain Asshat!

1) Playing golf after Foley’s beheading?
OR
2) Playing golf after saying that playing golf after Foley’s wedding was bad optics?
And that is all that needs to be said and the LOW INFORMATIONAL VOTER will be appeased..

optics is politics spelled backwards sort of.
Hurts my “optics” everytime I have this misfortune to observe him.

Poor choice of words, Obama should have said he didn’t give a rats a$$.
no follow up about how he looks not interested, or it was not compassionate for the family, no all about his optics and him not being sorry he played golf but got caught doing so
