The Anti-Gun Billionaires

Those on the left say they abhor big money’s corrupting influence in politics — until a leftist billionaire starts trying to sway public opinion. That’s okay with them, because, you know, old George Soros really isn’t creepy at all — he’s just a grandfatherly figure who gives like Santa Claus. And the same goes for Warren Buffett and Michael Bloomberg — their billions are okay, too. All Bloomberg wants is for the rest of us to give up tobacco, big gulps, and guns.

Now Bill Gates has joined on the great lefty-billionaire good-guy list. Gates is donating $1 million to push a voter initiative in Washington State that would require “universal background checks” for all would-be gun buyers. If it passes, all gun sales will have to be vetted by the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

rich leftists support these social issues because it exempts them from criticism from the left on any other issues

e.g. look at Corzine

I’m pretty sure in Texas you have to pass an NICS check.

“Pretty sure” doesn’t cut the mustard. And since when is Texas the paragon of gun rights? Open carry is prohibited there.

We have a man carrying an M16 around downtown Nashville on his back with a gun rights sign in his hands. The M16 is equipped with silencer. It is strapped on his back with a red long loop type lock attached behind the trigger. He was arrested once, but; the judge immediately released him which offended some police officials.

Michigan is more pro 2nd amendment than Texas. Everyone can open carry, no permit required.

Shall issue CPL, and those with a valid CPL can open carry in schools!

Thanks for the INFO. Great Idea. That should put a dent in crime. It did not help Detroit. In 66, I had mostly guys from Detroit in my BCT class at FT Knox, KY. I saw a real difference depending on which part of the city one was from.

I think Texas is not nearly as “free” as most Texans think that it is! Also I understand that their GOP Legislative Leader is in cahoots with the RATs and gets himself elected as “Speaker” utilizing substantial RAT votes. The guy’s name is Joe Strauss.
Maybe someone can better describe the situation than I can.

Today in Detroit the black police chief goes on TV and tells everyone to get a CPL, and warns the criminals and thugs that people have the right to shoot them!

Rats in MI hold zero zip no power in state government.

Republicans hold every state office and even have a veto proof legislative majority over the moderate R governor.

Michigan just became the latest RTW state, that should tell everyone how little control the Rats have!

The state supreme court is also majority conservative.

The birth place of the labor unions and we not only kicked them in the balls, we told them to learn to like it!

I’m having a flashback to the ’08 presidential election, when the Palins wanted to contest Michigan, and McCain nixed it. Was Sarah right back then?

“Rats in MI hold zero zip no power in state government.”

And it looks as though there’s light at the end of the tunnel in Detroit. Now you need to deal with Somaliland (Dearborn). Henry Ford is probably spinning in his grave over what’s happened in Dearborn. Getting rid of the Somalis should be duck soup for the union goons that are out of work.

That’s all well and good but lets see what happens when he straps a FNX-45 on his belt.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Texas, my wife is from Texas, but their gun laws are pretty crappy right now. At least the state in which I live now (Virginia) and my home state (Michigan) are so much more 2nd Amendment friendly than Texas.
