Judicial Watch: DOJ Admits Lois Lerner’s Emails Exist

By Joel Gehrke

August 25, 2014 3:11 PM

A Justice Department official admitted that former IRS official Lois Lerner’s apparently missing emails actually exist on a backup server, but the government doesn’t plan to retrieve them.

“A Department of Justice attorney told a Judicial Watch attorney on Friday that it turns out the federal government backs up all computer records in case something terrible happens in Washington and there’s a catastrophe, so the government can continue operating,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton told Fox News’ Shannon Bream.

“But it would be too hard to go get lois lerner’s emails from that backup system,” Fitton continued, paraphrasing the DOJ official. “So, everything we’ve been hearing about scratched hard drives, about missing emails of Lois Lerner, other IRS officials, other officials in the Obama administration, it’s all been a pack of malarkey. They could get these records, but they don’t want to.”

Fitton said his group plans to ask a federal judge to order the IRS to hand over the emails, which conservative opponents of Lerner want to see in order to determine if there is a link between President Obama’s team and the IRS’s targeting of Tea Party groups.

“If this backup system is working, Lois Lerner’s emails are there,” Fitton said.

>>Picture brings back some memories. It is the control room on a nuclear powered vessel. The throttleman station is to the left, the reactor operator in the middle and the electrical operator to the right.

Same here. Spent many hundreds of hours on those three panels (Throttleman, SRO, EO/SEO/BCE respectively).

"They’ll say the backup system is NOT working!"

So true Hummingbird. And if you know about Microsoft's Outlook Server configurations, you know, as do all IT administrators, like Edward Snowden, that records of the transactions are spread across, many, probably dozens of servers, since her mail messages all had recipients, and those message records and database transactions are distributed. It is about how big a lie they can get away with? How naïve are most of the public? How tight is the control on all of our media, and beholden corporations like Microsoft, Google, and Apple? Almost everything being reported contains only partial truths, understandably perhaps, because those doing the reporting value being able to pay their mortgages, pay for their children's educations,

Lois Lerner worked high in the food chain. She will be protected because what she has done, and knows, would make this administration uncomfortable. But we must never forget that Eric Holder has been acting, and named attorney general for what will be sixteen years. Obama's supreme court appointees, Kagan, Sotomayor, and effectively, Roberts mean that there are enough hard line seats, and like Roberts, soft line or controllable justices to prevent any case from clearing "The Rule of Nine", necessary for a hearing by the highest court. Obama's team has the nation in check, though not yet check mate.

At worst, it may take a day for IT services to restore it but ... too hard to do?

Before retiring I was a network administrator. Every month we conducted tests of a disaster recovery, restoring tapes. We had bi-annual drills to restore an entire system on foreign equipment - that meant building hardware and remote connections, restoring software and data. You don't back it up unless you know you can use it if needed - quickly. Sounds like the IT staff at IRS needs to be fired and replaced (from management down).

Again Holder proves that he is more dangerous to America than any other Rat in power.

I don’t think you need any security for your Alaskan Penal Colony. If they can walk hundreds of miles through the Arctic wilds and survive, they earned their freedom. The crews of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror tried and failed.

It should be noted that the backing up of e-mails is mandated by Law requiring a permanent record be kept so Republican administrations won’t do a Nixon tape gap thing again. Well good for the goose, good for the gander.

Produce the documents.

If it involved you paying your taxes, I’m sure they would have it up and running in hours.

You may have a point, but I am sure Lerner will not see inside of a prison while Obama/Holder are running DOJ.

This will lead directly to Axelrod, Jarrett, and Obama’s entire reelection campaign. Assuming the judge has a clean NSA record.

Well, isn't THAT special?

This is just more incontrovertible evidence that the entire Federal Government is wholly, totally and completely illegitimate.

We must come to understand that the Federal Government as it now exists HAS ABSOLUTELY NO LEGITIMATE, MORAL or LEGAL AUTHORITY TO GOVERN US ANY LONGER.

All it has is the end of a gun to force itself on us and demand compliance with it.

The faster We The People come to recognize this fact, the more possible it might be to save what’s left of our liberty from it.

Repeated, bolded, and italicized for emphasis.
