The beheading of journalist James Foley has prompted American officials to begin working to knit together a broader international campaign to combat the extremists of the Islamic State, an effort that the Pentagon warned will require taking the fight beyond Iraq and into neighboring Syria.
The Obama administration has indicated it is prepared to continue selective airstrikes against the extremists inside Iraq, where they have seized significant swaths of territory. But Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, warned that the Islamic State, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, can’t be defeated without choking off its operations in Syria.

We should have gone after them in Syria back when we were in Iraq and the terrorist were being funneled by Assad (next to Putin one of the misunderstood dictators cheered by some Freepers) through Damascus to kill Americans in Iraq.
If the sackless lyin’king had any, he’d have simply said that, since you took it upon yourselves to kill this young man, stand by for heavy rolls to starboard. The bombing will commence in 2 hours. Lt.Col Ralph Peters failed to mention the millions of ‘peaceful’ muzzies standing silently on the sidelines ready to jump into the jihad at a moment’s notice.
Col. Peters only describes part of the problem but he does not dare to mention the broad picture of islam vs. America.
It is not only ISIS that is after our lives, but each and every muzzie is a potential jihadist. None of them have shown any disgust or repulsion of that gruesome public slaughter and none of our news agencies have dared to question a muslim of what his/her opinion on this event is.
They are all maintaining an embarrassing, cowardly and politically correct silence.
