House revives, approves border crisis bill – as Obama vows to ‘act alone’
Fox News ^ | 1 Aug 2014

The House late Friday revived and approved a Republican-authored border crisis bill after GOP leaders hurriedly resolved an internal battle that scuttled the vote a day earlier – but with the Senate on recess and the House soon to follow, there’s little chance of any bill reaching President Obama’s desk until the fall.

The president now is vowing to act unilaterally to address the illegal immigration issue.

The House legislation was approved on a 223-189 vote. The new version of the bill adds additional funding for the National Guard and includes policy changes meant to speed deportations of illegal immigrant children surging across the southern border.

However, a separate Senate bill died on a procedural vote a day earlier, and no more votes in that chamber are scheduled until early September.Even if the Senate were somehow to approve the House bill, Obama vowed Friday he would veto it.

In the absence of any legislation that all sides can agree on, the president threatened to act on his own to address immigration challenges, potentially during the five-week recess.

"I'm going to have to make some tough choices to meet the challenge, with or without Congress," Obama said Friday, speaking to reporters in the White House briefing room.

He later added: "I'm going to have to act alone, because we don't have enough resources."

He’s toast as a presidential candidate but the media is going to embrace him and stress how he can reign in the precious “independent” vote. Hmmm. Haven’t we gone down this road way too many times now.

Still not going to vote for your liberal republicans.

Romney didn't even match his own party platform.

You can obfuscate all you want, but I'll watch the end game goals. And I'm not seeing anything to vote for with the republicans.

I continue to work that direction. Getting rid of Dewhurst was an important step in that (and other conservative goals).

This will prove to be a good Repub move for one reason.....Boobamba announce he will veto the bill.

Ah yes. The old fashioned notion that you put something up for a vote or a veto and if you don't win, you bash the pols who act inappropriately.

I see nothing in there about building the fence we were going to build 10 years ago.

They have never vetted him, same as his old man — and same as Obama. Weird coincidence.

I especially like the part about paying for it with reductions in some other dirtbagz foreign aid. Start with Central America’s and work out from there. Those slick haired geniuses think it’s cute to send their trash to us——let them pay to get ‘ém back. Then maybe go to Pakistan’s stash and give it a big hit. Just start counting backwards from all the butt-draggers who can’t get around to helping us at all. And getting a refund from the Soddies would feel good.

The House will stay GOP - whatever THAT means anymore...

There is a 95-98% that the house doesn't change sides, but I never underestimate the power of the LSM over the low-information voters out there.

Maybe I'm just overly cynical having grown up in Tax-a-chusetts, now living in the Bay Air-head area of the Moonbeam state.

I made sure to check out his facebook page and gave him a huge thank you for the good work that he is doing, and I've added him to my Conservative List as follows:

Sen Ted Cruz
Sen Mike Lee
Sen Jeff Sessions
Sen Louie Gohmert
Sen Steve King-IA
Congressman Mo Brooks
Congressman Paul Broun

Is there anyone else that's Conservative & has been helping Sen Cruz fight the good fight?

So Republicans flipped off their base for no reason at all.

If I was a liberal Democrat, I’d be laughing and crapping on everyone too.

Rush brought up a good point. Bammy doesn’t care if the dims keep power he isn’t running for anything else so he may do some stuff before elections. He will do the remainder on his own to fulfill his dream of punishing America. He wants the bad to really take effect when the R’s have power.
