WASHINGTON (CBS DC) Sen. John McCain ridiculed the top U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officials at a hearing Wednesday, with McCain blasting rules preventing lawmakers from taking pictures or talking to staff and detainees at border facilities.
You have over-stepped your responsibilities and your authority, sir, McCain told U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske. And I want those instructions revoked as far as members of Congress are concerned, and I want it done today. You understand?
I want it fixed, and I want it fixed immediately. Understand? McCain snapped at multiple top CBP officials.
McCains response was to rules handed down by the CBP that stated Congressional lawmakers and media are forbidden from taking photos, using recording devices or speaking with detainees or staff while touring the immigration detention facilities.
Kerlikowske responded that the rules were in place to protect the thousands of children detainees being held at the facilities.
The children have a right to privacy, and thats why were not having their faces shown, Kerlikowske stated.
But McCain dismissed that answer on several occasions throughout the hearing.

We're not fooled, John. You reap what you sow. You've voted over and over to exacerbate this chaos, assisting Ted Kennedy, Arlen Specter and Charles Schumer in pushing your "Comprehensive Immigration Reform."
Only the test. The US welcomed them in and millions will be storming the open borders soon.
Can we arrange to deport McDork (along with the Obamadork) when we finally send the ILLEGAL ALIENS back?
Oh, please treat the children with respect.
The two dorks can ride on the wings.
At 35,000 feet.
And around 500 knots.
A moment of convenience for McLame. Talk is cheap, and so are RINOs, especially when it comes to doing ANYTHING about our border policies.
Why do illegals have the right to privacy? Nobody else in the country does.
Savage played the soundbite just now. McCain sounded meek and defeated, unlike what the transcript suggests. He should have said “get the eff out of my way”, but didn’t.
The quickest “fix” would be to indict Barack Hussein Obama for his crimes against the American people.
What are they hiding?
Somebody should tell him he’s not the president. I know it was a long time ago but he lost.
Or what Juan?
McNut realizes he better rally his conservative base or his days in the Senate are over.
This is because the huge influx of illegal immigrants will turn Arizona blue. If McNut has little to no conservative votes, then he is finished.
Where’s the fence?
—Through clenched teeth:
“I want is fikshd, and I want it fikshd immediately”
John McCain voted to defund and gut the Secure Fence Act, then ran for reelection using the motto “complete the danged fence.”
So the supposed "privacy rights" of illegal alien children now trump the Constitutional separation of powers and Congressional oversight?
A child who crossed the border illegally a week ago has more power than a sitting Senator?

Kerlikowske is the former Seattle police chief who had his service weapon stolen from his parked car a few years back. The scum truly does rise to the top.
Isn’t there a major issue of separation of powers going on here. Congress has the constitutional right of oversight and being able to document gov’t activity is part of that oversight.
Wow. John finally woke up. Who the hell do these bureaucrats think they are that they can order around the people we elect? Do we work for the bureaucrats or do they work for us? It’s time to make sure they know.
They don’t want you to see the diseases, and that %85 or more are grown adult males.
