Two Broward County assistant public defenders were fired Tuesday for Facebook comments calling Palestinians "cockroaches" and "filthy swine."
Bruce Raticoff and Gary Sheres both lost their jobs, as outrage built after the Sun Sentinel published an article including the Facebook comments a week ago, Public Defender Howard Finkelstein said.
The remarks from the two mens' personal Facebook accounts last week were posted under an item about Palestinians allegedly celebrating the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teen boys. The killings were blamed on the Islamic militant group Hamas.
"They are the filthy swine they don't eat. Their ignorance to the world bewilders the dumbest people I have ever met," Sheres posted.
A bit later, a comment came from Raticoff's account: "That's why the Palestinian people are considered the cockroaches of the world. Reprehensible and despicable with utter disregard for civility and humanity. Burn them to the ground."

Fired for telling the truth? What has become of America?
You just know if they were bashing Israel they would not be fired.
Compare what these guys said to what was said about those who celebrated the Hobby Lobby decision...
Or what some celebrity said about Paul Ryan and his wife the night they accepted the VP nomination....
Or any given set of tweets from liberals about any given conservative.
They were being too kind. Animals and sewer rats would have been more like it ...

Every Arab in every Arab nation agrees with the two lawyers.
Apparently they were supposed to praise the palis who danced at the deaths of Israeli civilians.
Notice the headline lies. I’m sure the reaction to these accurate emotions that forced the firings were full of vitriol. Hypocrites.

Don't even know what that means. But it doesn't sound complimentary.

Probably not acceptable. Not nice to compare humans to insects.
Also appears to call for genocide.
All that said, it seems odd the men were punished for comments they made legally, off the clock, and not using government facilities.
Muslims don't eat pork because that would be cannibalism.
