Federal Election Commission Chairman Lee E. Goodman warned that the federal government—including some officials in his office—may soon move to clamp down on conservative media.

“I think that there are impulses in the government every day to second guess and look into the editorial decisions of conservative publishers,” Goodman told Paul Bedard of the Washington Examiner on Wednesday.

At threat, in Goodman’s estimation, is the media’s exemption from federal election laws governing political organizations like PACs. Many in government want to curtail the ability of all news outlets to endorse and promote candidates and issues without any limits or disclosure requirements. …

Aww, heck - let's just do away with those pesky elections while we're at it.

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

They should have written, "Congress shall make no law" and put a period at the end of it.

A regulatory agency can not regulate what the Congress can not legislate. Any action on the part of the FCC should be nullified.

The FEC is unconstitutional. Unfortunately, the USSC has been lawless in this and many other areas...gotta “evolve” and all that.

Liberal argument:

Democrats are not like the NAZIs because they haven't done x, y, or z ... yet.

My argument:

Democrats are like NAZIs because they have already done a, b, and c like the NAZIs, and are following the same progression toward total oppression of their opponents and mass murder of all who resist. Democrats already mass murder those whom they deem simply "inconvenient".

Is it possible to employ a baseball bat as an educational tool for regulatory agencies?

The aged 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radical, psycho spoiled brats and their ideological issue arguably the Establishment want to curtail the ability of all news outlets conservative opinion to endorse and promote candidates and issues without any limits or disclosure requirements.

We already disclose it's the limits that is the problem. It's been tried over and over from the "Fairness Doctrine" to Washington state a few years ago The complaint claimed that on-air discussions by two radio talk show hosts urging listeners to support the initiative constituted “in-kind” contributions by the radio station

"The complaint claimed that on-air discussions by two radio talk show hosts urging listeners to support the initiative constituted 'in-kind' contributions by the radio station to the No New Gas Tax Committee . . . [The court agreed with the prosecutors] the Institute for Justice Washington Chapter (IJ-WA) defended the No New Gas Tax campaign against the [decision] . . . The Washington Supreme Court agreed to hear the case. On April 26, 2007, it unanimously reversed the trial court, holding that talk radio commentary is not an 'in-kind' contribution."

I lived through all the decades of the "Fairness Doctrine" -- never again! If our free speech rights are taken away it is mandatory that we defend against the agressors with blood; their blood, our free speech.

They use the irs to silence normal people. No surprise that they would use another branch of the government to harass, intimidate and persecute normal people who speak out against the actions of the current batch of fascists.

You’re right. They want conservatives silenced as much as the dems do.

Only if you limit leftist media, like ABCCBSNBCCNNPBS.

Perhaps it is time for conservatives to built their own intranet.
