We live in a republic which as a democratic voting apparatus.
Well, at least we did until 2008 as we now have something more akin to an elected kingdom.
United States was founded as a Republic, not a democracy.
voting and elections was killed by Lois Lerner. She mus be tried and executed for her crimes against the voting republic.
Lois Lerner has destroyed democracy with the cudgel of the IRS
Democracy always fails. That is why it is called mobocracy.
The 17th amendment was only the begining.
I’ve said since 2008 (it took me that long to realize it) that the problem is not the elected officials. It is the electorate.
The Democrat Party was usurped and converted into a socialist party with pecific political agendas acting on behalf of foreign puppet masters and interests. Those within the Party are too blind to see it and can’t see the forest for the trees.
Democracy:
Three rapists and two women voting on how to spend the afternoon.
This nation is a republic, and we have a republican government, not a democracy.
See my book at the website in my tagline.
Yeah, but what can you do?
Heee’s BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!
Wanna be called (shudder) WAAAAYCYST?????????
With the country split roughly 50/50 dem & gop, that actually means it’s split 75/25 liberal-statist & conservative-constitutionalist. Is there any wonder why our nation and society are headed over the proverbial cliff?
We’ve gone from the “greatest generation” -to- a nation of spoiled selfish brats within just two or three generations. Looking at today’s youth, where are the future leaders who will lead the country out of this mess with the founders ideals firmly in mind?
The future does not look good for us as a nation or society. It’s said that the best lessons are learned hardest. I believe we are in for a series of extremely hard lessons like we’ve never seen before.
A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.
~~Alexander Fraser Tyler, “The Decline and Fall of the Athenian Republic”
Democracies always fail. That’s why the founders of the United States created a representative republic. It lasted for a lot longer than any democracy, but it has devolved into a fascist state with fraudulent elections.
I don’t give a rat’s ass about democracy. I’m concerned about freedom, liberty, and natural rights.
Modern Leftists use the word democracy as a replacement for freedom or liberty, its not.
Democracy is the least-worst, acceptable method for a group of people to determine toppings for a communal pizza, but as a method of picking sexual partners its no better than totalitarianism.
Democracy fails when it is used to infringe on an individuals rights.
The author’s premise “democracy is a very good system” is false. A mixed constitution with both democratic and anti-democratic elements, provided the proper balance is maintained, is a very good system. Unfortunately the shelf-life for the proper balance seems to be somewhere between 125 and 300 years.
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for dinner.
In all systems (even communism) there will be those with money and the poor. Democracy allows the poor to create laws that those with money have to live by. Including laws which can confiscate their money and possessions.
