New York no longer worst state to do business

That honor now goes to New Jersey. Tax reforms passed in the latest budget represent big improvements for corporations, but not so much for individuals.

...

Still, New York remains a burdensome place to earn a living. The reforms did not change the state's poor rankings for having high sales taxes (No. 38), individual income taxes (No. 49) and unemployment taxes (No. 45).

Meanwhile, the governor announced Tuesday that the state tax department collected nearly $4 billion in evaded taxes in the past year, a 5% or $200 million increase compared to the year earlier. The state collects about $87 billion in taxes.

If I have leprosy but my neighbor has more leper sores on his skin than mine, that’s little comfort.

Race to the bottom - the three most egregiously liberal states in the Union. Wonder where Massachusetts and Illinois fit in there?

It’s not natural for NJ to be #1. I think we need a redo on this particular study.

...it may not actually come to open revolt one day.

Folks just might quietly pack up and slink away to a more favorable state one-by-one. By the time anybody really notices, so many of the “makers” will already be gone that the thing may simply collapse in exhaustion and depletion.

One can hope...

(By the way, go to Texas. North Carolina is all filled up now. No room for any more Yankee tax refugees left...)

New York will ALWAYS be the worst because not just of its wealth robbing tax policies but even more so because they CANT BE TRUSTED. Their advertisement of “Tax Free Zones” for 10 years is a total lie meant to lure business in and make them serfs in perpetuity to them later. Do not trust this police state to guard your freedom either. You will be so saddled with regulation and cost-of-business that eventually they will bleed you all so their voters get their EBT cards and free Obama Phones with their tax-payer funded abortions!

“Folks just might quietly pack up and slink away to a more favorable state one-by-one.”

Those sidewalk monkeys are stuck in NYC. Too stupid to learn to drive, take away taxis and the subway and the dumb bastards would starve to death.

What, no mention of real estate taxes? Some counties in NY have the highest property taxes in the country.

A couple days ago, there were a dozen posts from various sources saying that Christie switched to the democrats.

Then nothing.

Is he still GOP or not?

I missed that. He apparently switched.

He is running for Governor of New Jersey as a Democrat in 2014.

Source:

BREAKING: NJ Chris Christie Changing Party Affiliation to Democrat

Apparently, Bill Clinton was there for the announcement of the switch.

He might have made a deal with Democrats to get them from a criminal investigation by the DOJ for what he and his folks did about intentionally blocking traffic.

The DOJ was about to start an investigation of Christie...

So I think he cut a deal...

I call such folks (Democrats and some select Republicans such as John McCain) DEMON RATS. Change the "C" to an "N" in DemoCrat and make it two words, and you have DEMON RATS...

Here is a link about DOJ (US Attorney's office) investigating the Bridge Scandal:

Report: US attorney investigating Christie bridge scandal

I figure he switched parties to avoid prosecution.

After all, Democrats (or rather DEMON RATS) are not prosecuted by the Obama Administration...

But .. NY’s “tax free for 10 years” mantra is for the birds. As soon as your new business is really making money, in swoops the NY Govt and takes away most of your profit.

Wow! What a concept. Schumer must have thought of this.
