RAND PAUL TO CALIFORNIA REPUBLICANS: EVOLVE, ADAPT, OR DIE
Breitbart ^ | April 6, 2014 | GOP-e Sen. Rand Paul

Posted on 04/06/2014 5:43:23 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Evolve, adapt or die. That is the fate of our current Republican party. We must evolve as a party and find a way to attract millennials to the conservative movement or we will never succeed in realizing our ideals of individual freedom and freedom from government interference.

Initially, I received criticism from political pundits for speaking to non-traditional audiences. I was told it was a waste of time to reach out to these audiences, specifically students from both Howard University and University of California, Berkeley.

My response is this: I have never been one to watch the world go by without participating. I wake up each day hoping to make a difference.

You might be a Republican, Democrat or Independent. I speak before these audiences, not to preach or prescribe some special formula.

My intention is not to tell you what to be. You are more important than any political party or partisan pleadings. My intention is to motivate all Americans and defend their rights.

My hope is that in discussing these topics, more Americans will be open to the conservative message. A message that favors choice in education, a less aggressive foreign policy, more compassion regarding non-violent crime and encourages opportunity in employment.

As a conservative [*cough, *cough] politician, it is clear to me that we must start discussing these topics more with audiences that might not normally hear our message--specifically young adults and students.

Preaching to the choir is not working for the conservative movement. We are growing stale and moss-covered. We must evolve, adapt or die.

The “context” is that he is telling the California GOP, that destroyed itself by being social liberals, to move even more left.

Do you think his summary is of a speech that was about the California GOP becoming more conservative, more like Texas, or one calling on them to move left, to “a more tolerant view of American politics”?

“”More conservatives need to proudly stand up and protect the Bill of Rights.
I am certain the influential writers at Breitbart California will stand with me and continue to introduce a more tolerant view of American politics and a view that will attract new members to our movement.””

I avoid engaging this poster. It’s futile.

Most of the libertarians here are the same.

Days, even weeks of their passionate, yet meatless posts on a thread, all saying nothing.

It amounts to simple, anti-conservative trolling.

They appear to be cultists, they are obsessed with staying true to their anti-conservatism and are compulsed to post and to oppose and express anger, and disdain for the conservatism they see here, but at the same time, they don’t want to reveal what it is they are posting about or promoting.

I have posted to several and after the name-calling on their part, without ever addressing issues, I stopped. It’s useless.

Libertarian politics and candidates, are about getting something done, that they are trying to hide the truth about.

They are the commandos of the left, using new tactics and a new vocabulary, to get inside among the conservatives, and attempt to co opt them by stealing their language for leftist goals.

The most sordid, disgusting technique, is the attempt to move God into the pro-libertarian, gay marriage, abortion, drugs, column.

I can link you to thread after thread after thread of Christ and Christian faith being twisted into support for gay marriage and drugs, and libertarianism, while social conservatism is portrayed as being anti-Christian, anti-God.

I assume the goal is to destroy the effectiveness of introducing Christian morality and language, into conservative political discussions.

Gods design is one man and one woman. He never changed that. Nowhere in the Bible is a homosexual used by God. Their twisting is in vain.

Does it go something like this?:

L. Poster: Everyone knows that Cruz, Lee, and Palin aren't "real" conservatives, just as everyone knows the sky is blue on a clear day.

C. Poster: What proof do you have that "Everyone" knows that Cruz, Lee, and Palin aren't "real" conservatives? Defend your post with some facts!

L. Poster: Why should it be necessary to defend, on a Conservative forum, that everyone knows the sky is blue on a clear day?

C. Poster: No, you need to provide proof that Everyone knows that Cruz, Lee, and Palin aren't "real" conservatives? Either defend your statement with some facts, or rescind your statement.

L. Poster: As I've already stated in my previous post, there is no need to defend my statement that everyone knows the sky is blue on a clear day. It is an obvious fact that all Conservatives should easily be able to agree to. Your continuing arguments against such clear facts are counter productive. The discussion is now closed.

You are shown to be making this up out of thin air.

“We both know what the main thrust of that article and his recent positioning is.”

We both know that I picked a single statement and made no other claim about it other than it was something conservatives should agree with. I posited no endorsement of anything other than that one statement.

The rest of your post is psychobabble nonsense.

I think that when a politician says something conservative, you point it out - and maybe they actually say more and act on more conservative things.

Politicians are mercurial that way.

LOL, it’s just a loop with you guys, you so want to say something but you lack the courage, yet you keep on posting over, and over, and over, about nothing.

That is why you couldn’t answer post 241.

Do you think his summary is of a speech that was about the California GOP becoming more conservative, more like Texas, or one calling on them to move left, to “a more tolerant view of American politics”?

Yeah, he really is just a troll, a libertarian that will keep posting and arguing, but refuse to say anything.

They are some sick, weak, puppies, DU members that would rather hang out here and waste people’s time.

Yes, you are very courageous. If only you had a point to focus such tremendous courage upon, you might be a real contender.

Look, let’s just stop trading insults. If you have a question, try not prefacing it with mindless nonsense. Show “courage of focus”. If you truly have a question of me, just ask it. You might try asking “Are you a libertarian?” first.
