“It” likely doesn’t exist at all. The Russians are ginning up justifications for their upcoming invasion of the enitirety of Ukraine and this is just part of the propaganda war.

the smaller ones fly that low Except the Russians showed a picture of a Predator with Hellfire missiles hanging on the rails. That's not a 'smaller' one and it's also not a Global Hawk which is what we'd have to use to reach Crimea. Those 'smaller' drones you mention don't have the kind of range required to reach Crimea.

The article also gives the RV model, a UAV MQ-5B. Its a prop aircraft and would have to operate at lower altitudes.

If it is our drone, they are busy reverse engineering it, if it was intact like the Russies say. For me, it would inconceivable that these drones aren't equipped for self-destruction.
Even under the Obama Administration, the military must realize how important it is to guard military technology secrets.
