US President Barack Obama's warning that Russia would have to pay for a planned military intervention in Crimea is "a direct threat," a deputy head of Russia's upper house of parliament said on Saturday, saying Obama has "crossed the red line and insulted the Russian people."
"Yesterday we heard from various media sources that the US president, Obama, had said Russia would pay dearly for its policy. We know that Maidan militants who were active in Kiev, and not only there, had been trained in Lithuania and Poland. Now they want to spread their influence with their activities to eastern regions of Ukraine and Crimea," Federation Council Deputy Chairman Yury Vorobyov said at an upper house session. Vorobyov urged the Federation Council to satisfy a request from President Vladimir Putin for permitting the use of Russian armed forces in Crimea. "If we don't approve a decision to that effect, it will be a tragedy for the Ukrainian people. I believe that these words of the US president are a direct threat, and he has crossed the red line and insulted the Russian people," Vorobyov said. He insisted that Russia recall its ambassador from Washington. Obama urges Russia-US cooperation on Ukraine, calls for joint effort stability President Barack Obama delivered a statement on the situation in Ukraine on Friday afternoon. Washington will continue to discuss the situation in Ukraine directly with Russia's leadership, US President Barack Obama said. Before the President's speech, US envoy to the UN, Samantha Powers, said that the United States is "deeply concerned" by "facts on the ground" in Ukraine.

They thought that was a threat? seriously?
Oh, God. Now Obama will give them back Alaska to appease their wrath.
Really!!!!
And in another VOR proclaimation a few threads down, they claim the Maidan Protestors were Nazi's? Wish they could make up there minds.
I can’t find anything on this guy. Who is he?
I hate to tell you this Ivan, but he's much more a threat to the US!
Ah Hah! They are working to Restore the Commonwealth!! (if only it were true)
The Russians have zero respect for obama and I sure don’t blame them.
Thing is they can think whatever they want.
And more importantly, they can do whatever they want.
America is a laughing stock now.
This is what happens when a bunch of weaklings elect a weakling.
A lot of people are asking that. He's a mystery. No school records, no friends from the past. Some people think he was born in Hawaii, others say Kenya ...
Oh. Wait.
Did you mean the Russian?
Yes lots of Nazis and islamofascists in those mobs.
The way it seemed to shape up, the Russians claimed the protestors were neo-Nazis to the international audience, and claimed that they were Jews to their domestic audience.
Obviously nobody of any influence or he’d be to busy laughing to respond.
I guess this guy hasn't heard that red lines ain't what they used to be.
This is what happens when we elect a punk community organizer as leader of the free world.
Trained in Lithuania and Poland??? Will we now find some Gulag prisoners dressed in Lithuanian uniforms shot dead near a radio transmitter outside Saint Petersburg? We already have the “protecting our fellow Russians” mantra being repeated ad nauseam. Change Russian to German and suddenly it’s 1938. And why is no one publicly apologizing to both Palin and Romney? They both hit it dead on.
Samantha Powers, the bigot who said Daniel Pearl was beheaded because he forgot about “individual accountability and reconciliation” That same Samantha Powers want me to give a crap about her concerns? Get real. This admin is a joke.
Obama is very dangerous. He makes passive threats. He is going to get us nuked.
Good God! They thought that was a threat? Imagine how they’d react to a man instead of a little girl!
