Hoyer predicts Democrats positioned to win back the House in 2014

The second ranking House Democrat predicted his party was in good position to retake control of the House of Representatives in the 2014 midterm election.

House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer pointed to a fundraising advantage for Democrats, lower poll numbers for congressional Republicans, divisions inside the GOP ranks, and a good recruiting class of Democratic challengers, and said "all of those combined in my view give me great optimism that we're going to win back the House."

Democrats need to pick up 17 seats to regain the majority in the House, and most political handicappers say that with the narrow list of competitive congressional districts the odds are long that they can reach that goal.

In a session with reporters inside his Capitol Hill office on Monday, Hoyer noted that he made a similar prediction in 2006 that House Democrats would win control - one that many dismissed at the time - but he was proven right on election night that year....

How will we be able to tell the difference if it does happen?

No difference.

May less maybe some democrat less appeasing to the liberals than Boehner will be in the majority leader seat, but that’s hard to picture.

"Literally ZERO chance..."

.... Unfortunately .... that's what we said last federal election. Never underestimate the enemy. They seek to destroy us ... and they will use any means possible with the media standing by to protect them. We need to be prepared for a serious and relentless uphill battle.

All depends on amnesty.
If Boehner/Ryan/Cantor get away with it, all bets are off.

I wonder if Hoyer has been listening to Nancy Pelosi.

Hoyer is totally out of touch with reality. Has absolutely no idea how disgusted the middle class is with the socialist democrats.

Democrats believe that to make what they want to happen actually happen, all they have to do is predict that it will happen.

The problem is that the low information voter always believes the politician with the strongest voice.

In the last two elections, Obama had the strongest voice, and he got elected.

Back in the Day, Hitler had the strongest voice, and he got elected - - - .

“Hoyer is totally out of touch with reality. Has absolutely no idea how disgusted the middle class is with the socialist democrats.”

But 51% depend on gov’t handouts from the democrats.

I think the House could very well be lost in 2014. The Dems will follow through on this current meme that “its good not to have to work just to get health care” and their next platform they will just come out and say it, dont want to work? just vote early and often for us and then in 2016 it will be you dont want to lose it do you?

I never was a big Romney supporter but he was dead on when he talked about the 47%, it only takes a few more points, hello illegals, to get a permanent majority and the republic will have fallen.

We’ve seen our last open and honest national elections. Cook County went national, and it’s on steroids.

Hoyer knows that it is not who casts the votes, but who counts the votes and who keeps recounting the votes that matters.

This is prepping the mindscape of the people to accept the results that the Regime will orchestrate.

Because as we have seen already, it doesn’t matter if there is there is blatant and overt fraud, unConstitutional lawbreaking and lawmaking - no one is going to do a damned thing about it.

And this regime knows that.

We’ve lost the Republic to a velvet and silent coup that we continue to tell ourselves has not happened.

Since a majority refused to call evil out for what it was in our culture and stand up against it, is it any wonder why a majority will refuse to stand up against tyranny?

If God is not sovereign in the land, then neither will liberty be sovereign. We have been given over to evil because of our collective sins.

Nothing is impossible, but I think it very, very unlikely that the GOP loses control of the House in 2014.

As for a difference...I think it would be hugh (and series). Boehner has been a letdown as House Leader, and he may well cave on immigration. Obama is likely to get some of what he wants with Boehner, no question.

IF Pelosi were back in, though...oh my. The Democrats would control both houses of Congress (assuming the GOP doesn’t take the Senate), and Obama would be in his last two years without having to face re-election ever again. His two primary enforcers (Pelosi and Reid) would also be at the point where they were unlikely to seek re-election.

In other words, they’d feel free to push through every leftist policy and pipe dream Obama has every wanted. 2008 to 2010 would probably look like the Coolidge years by comparison. If it wrecks 2016 for Hillary, what does Obama care about that? He’ll have his agenda pushed through, and we all know how unlikely it is for things to ever be repealed by Congress.

So yeah, I’m hoping for a GOP hold in the House. Dribbles of big government for two years is lousy, but leftism unfettered is a whole lot worse.
