Maria Conchita Alonso, the Cuban-Venezuelan actress who counts as one of her best-known films Moscow on the Hudson with Robin Williams, is drawing controversy over a political ad in which she appears with a California Tea Party lawmaker who is running for governor.
Several Latino organizations criticized the actress for endorsing Tim Donnelly, an assemblyman who founded a state chapter of the Minutemen, an armed vigilante border patrol group, and who has pushed for a hard line on immigration.

Sounds like she won that exchange.
She doesn’t support slavery?
It’s often the case that those who have lived (and grown up) under communism are strongly anti-communist.
Of course, their opinions are swept aside by multi-millionaires like Sean Penn.
Yup. Better a free market pig than a communist half man.
maybe Robert Redford made her strident after Milagro Beanfield Wars!
Hollywood blacklist
Yeah, good move by here. Just ignore Commiewood papers.
Impossible to listen to that song without at least tapping a foot :-)
She’s a good looking woman....and smarter than the avg.
Alonso is an outspoken critic of Cuba’s Fidel Castro and Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez, whom she has described as a “dictator” like “Hitler,”[2] and those who vote and support him as “terrorists.”[3] She has appeared on Sean Hannity’s Hannity’s America on May 6, 2007, Hannity & Colmes on June 1, 2007[2] and Bill O’Reilly’s The O’Reilly Factor on August 13, 2007 and March 11, 2009.
In the fall of 2008, Alonso endorsed the presidential campaign of Republican nominee John McCain..
I remember her. She’s dauntless.
Venezuelans as a rule understand that illegal immigration as a problem. They don’t like it when it happens in their country and they don’t expect us to like it either.
It used to be a big problem in Venezuela. I don’t know that it is anymore. Mostly the immigration flow is in the other direction these days. But the Venezuelans I know here take a lot of pride in dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s.
Funny how its all about race and us against them politics as if it is okay for one race to have an agenda against another race...
And who are the racists exactly?
Are we not all supposed to be Americans?
Wasn’t she in the original ‘Running Man’ movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Regardless, she’s a better American than the president, vice-president, attorney general, 80% of the senate, and 70% of the house of reprehensibles... ....and 99.9% of the ‘Hollywood elite’.
Those LAtino orgs are showing their intolerant leftwing intentions. Once given amnesty they will endorse Democrats not Republicans who support it too.
She deserved an academy award or maybe a Purple Heart for love scenes with an undressed robin Williams in that movie! Let’s just say that he should have spent two weeks being waxed first in order to avoid the up chucked popcorn on all the theater floors.
