Why do I suspect that Obummer won’t be at Sharon’s funeral (and taking selfies). Given Uncle Joe has been around a while, he may get sent to attend; however, I’m not holding my brief given how this admin has handled our relationship with Israel. Bebe said Pres GW Bush was the best friend Israel ever had - - perhaps he’ll attend.

A hero of Arab-Israeli conflicts who ultimately traded land for Taqiyya. RIP.

RIP Ariel Sharon, you were a human being, flawed sometimes, but with great love for your nation, your people, and God almighty!!! You will be ranked along with Israel’s other great Generals and Leaders, Moses, David, Joshua, Gideon, Abraham, etc. A son of the Lord has returned home to the father of all men, to rest in peace for eternity is God’s heaven.

“This generation shall not all pass away before all these things are fulfilled.”

(Meaning, as I understand it, the generation that sees the re-birth of Israel as a country among the nations. That was 1948. I don’t they meant “to the last man,” but I think they meant in bulk, or in the main. Most. We’re clearly there, in that season...”

He died 8 years ago. I’m glad they have stopped torturing him. I’m afraid for Israel - they need a new generation of warriers with spines to rise up after Netanyahu - but unfortunately they are going the way of the US - metrosexuals with no morals or spine....

In a New York Times Magazine interview many years ago, he told how in the War of Independence he had battled the Arab armies on the very same land in which he sat telling the story as owner of one of the largest farms in Israel. He was fighting on the front lines against Jordan, only a few soldiers surviving with him, the battles so relentless he hadn't eaten or slept for days.

During the fighting he was ordered to retreat but never received the message due to his radio having failed. That was what kept him in the front lines for days on end.

Finally, he could tolerate it no more and with every last ounce of strength crawled away in search of water, food. He finally happened upon a small pool of blood having accumulated from his now dead fellow soldiers after draining downhill and in which he dived into quenching his thirst and in the process somehow managing to survive.

And then, in telling the reporter the harrowing story of how against all odds he managed to survive said, "And now my enemies will say, I drink blood, too."

Rest in Peace, Sir!

When will the flags be directed to fly at half staff as with Mandela?

As a general and defense minister, he was a George S. Patton all the way.

In the Yom Kippur War (1973) he cut right through the middle of the Egyptian attack and cut off their army on the southern flank.

His tanks could have gone all the way to Cairo.

In the early 80’s he masterminded the offensive into Lebanon that cornered Arafat and his PLO terrorists on the Beirut waterfront.

Unfortunately, Ronald Reagan, yes Ronald Reagan, wouldn’t let him finish the job. Dan Rather was showing too many civilian casualties on the evening news.

The State of Israel bows its head on the passing of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Ariel Sharon played a central role in the struggle for the security of the State of Israel over all its years.

He was, first and foremost, a courageous fighter and an outstanding general, and was among the IDF's greatest commanders.

From his youth, he served the people of Israel on the battlefield. He did so as a soldier in the War of Independence, a commander in the Sinai campaign and the Six Day War, and up to his decisive role in the battle over the Suez Canal that led to the turning point in the Yom Kippur War.

He established Unit 101 and took the initiative in the war against terrorism, which became a central pillar of the State of Israel.

Upon leaving the military, he continued to work on behalf of the people of Israel both in his many government roles and as the 11th prime minister of the State of Israel.

His memory will be enshrined forever in the heart of the nation.

Rest in peace, Lion of G-d. May your heroism and dedication to your nation be a source of strength to faithful Jews, a source of new-found wisdom to those foolish Israelis who wish to divide Eretz Yisroel, and may your family be comforted by their memories of you.
