Rex Tillerson, CEO of Exxon Mobil, sent a letter to Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett in May with a veiled threat to move operations out of the state if Corbett does not implement the controversial Common Core standards in Pennsylvania schools.

However, I was disappointed to learn of the misinformation opponents of this critical effort are advancing, which subsequently led your administration to delay its implementation. I urge you to make the necessary clarifications quickly and move forward with the Pennsylvania Common Core.

Misinformation? You mean the misinformation of the parents whose children are suffering under this crap? The misinformation of the teachers who teach this crap? That misinformation? Or maybe you mean the misinformation of the “architects” of common core where they admit that students will not be truly career and college ready under common core. Or maybe the recent disclosure where David Coleman himself admitted in 2011 they were not qualified to do this. Chutzpah like this belongs only in one place: Jail.

Companies are always complaining about the lack of educated people smart enough to work for their companies in certain positions yet this CEO is pushing for a program that is certain to dumb down the school kids?

Exxon Mobil send a lot of money to Lee College in Baytown, TX, mostly to support the process plants instrumentation courses. With the watered down politically correct curriculum of Common Core, students would be at a further disadvantage going into even a trades education in a highly technical field. So a place like Lee College winds up diverting more resources to what amounts to remedial studies operations.

Diclosure statement: I am a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas, specializing in process automation. This is a multidiscipline field requiring working knowledge in electrical (my degree), mechanical, and chemical engineering.

And no other energy company will develop the newly accessible fossil resources of the Commonwealth once you leave, so your threat is highly credible.

Yep. A useful idiot is probably better than a true believer for that goal. Gives that touch of authenticity that an ideologue couldn’t fake.

Can someone explain how it is in Exxon Mobil’s interest and the interest of its shareholders to be threatening governors over something called ‘Common Core’?

Because perhaps of an idiot subclass of stockholders putting the screws to this CEO?

I have no particular facts... Just conjecturing what may have prompted this.

And, perhaps said CEO is a member of said subclass.

Let me guess, this Exxon CEO is either a NWO puke or just another snobby wealthy commie bent on the total suppression of the American people. Oh, that's right, that's the NWO’s goal to.

Nah, EXXON doesn’t care about the education or common core. What they care about is persuading the federal government to open up exports of oil.

Remember that part of fascism is persuading industrial leaders to support the government agenda in exchange for favorable treatment.

This is laughable because the people at EXXON should know that they cannot trust Obama to keep any sort of promise.

Wait a minute, where are all those screaming OWS members, complaining about the corporate money trying to influence our politics and our schools.

These letters read more like an attempt at extortion.
