HealthCare.gov team claims victory: 'We have met the goal'
THE HILL ^ | 12/01/2013 | Elise Viebeck

The Obama administration claimed victory Sunday for making HealthCare.gov workable for the vast majority of users, a standard that will be tested as millions of people flood the site in the next three weeks.

Sunday marked the passage of the administration's self-imposed deadline for fixing the broken ObamaCare enrollment website, which serves consumers in 36 states.

The agency that oversees HealthCare.gov said "we believe we have met the goal" of making the system navigable for most people, but cautioned that more fixes lie ahead.

"Dramatic progress has been made," the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) stated in a report released Sunday morning. "[But] there is more work to be done to continue to improve and enhance the website."

The mixed message highlights the challenge facing the Obama administration as it seeks to ensure that millions can sign up for individual health plans online by the end of March.

HealthCare.gov debuted with serious technical problems on Oct. 1, plunging President Obama into a political firestorm that engulfed the White House for two months.

The question now is whether the system can handle the high volume of user traffic expected in December. Consumers must complete the sign-up process by Dec. 23 in order to obtain plans that begin Jan. 1.

Administration officials also acknowledge that some problems with HealthCare.gov have yet to be fixed. The severity of these issues is unknown, but it is possible that some errors have not yet been discovered.

it would take at least 6 months to a year to test and debug such a complicated system - they started with an untested system on Oct 1, they might have something working on April fools day

the small business system has been delayed for a year

the payments system to insurance co’s will not be built for jan 1, they are just going to let the insurance co’s estimate their subsidies and invoice the gov’t !

when they get the website working well enough to get significant volume into the system they are going to find that the data in various gov’t databases (IRS, SSA, HHS, DOJ, HSA, VA etc) is not 100% accurate and not consistent.

before this thing works they have a giant data normalization project to do !

the were working on 50 bug fixes on saturday and installed new hardware on friday !

we are dealing with the Dunning Krueger effect here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning–Kruger_effect

obama and his flying monkeys have no idea how complex the fix for this thing is, their problems have just started, the web site was the easy part

sit back and watch, the fun is just beginning !

Great. Now we won’t hear any more whining/excuses/blame from Obama.

Now how do I get that $2500?

“Victory” in this case means succeeding at getting folks to drink a fatal poison.

Yes, but you won't get a gold star for your work!

***And thousands of hackers planting Trojan horses for future use. Too bad some of those hackers aren’t planting malevolent scripts that bring down the sight permanently.

Democrats capitalized on Katrina

The funny part is, if Bush wasn't such a worthless loser, Katrina would have been one of the great Republican victories in my life.

When Katrina went inland the news was New Orleans dodged another bullet. The levies failed 12 to 24 hours later. The Navy and Coast Guard brought resources to the disaster in minutes.

Resources continued to pour in, resources unprecedented in the history of the world within 96 hours.

The Katrina disaster was authored by Democrat leadership in Louisiana. The worst of that leadership was in the form of Mayor Ray Nagin. His idea of crisis management was to do zip but stand on the highest platform he could find and scream, "Help. g*dd%$nit!" Even that was only after he stole what he thought he could from the funds to protect the citizens.

The only thing we needed in those days was one Republican who could give one decent speech. We didn't have one. We had Bush.

With luck we have had our last Bush running for national public office.

Snerk!!!

Ye olde Maytag repairman is not going to have anything on that site. I wouldn't click that link for cash money on the barrelhead, not even if dear old Benjamin was talking.

Komrades, our beloved Union of Soviet Socialist Republics has meet 250% objectives in grain production, tractor production, potato production, rubber tire production, and airplane propeller production...! I know, however, that our internal enemies are spreading propaganda saying the lines for bread and potatoes are long and that there is no food for much of the population. Please remember, your lives depend on believing us. After all, we know your eyes can lie....
