HealthCare.gov, the problem-plagued federal online site for signing up for insurance under Obamacare, will go down for extended maintenance on Friday night and overnight ahead of Saturday's deadline to have it working for most people, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said.
The overnight maintenance overnight is set to last from 9 p.m. ET Friday until 8 a.m. ET Saturday.
It's not the first time the website has gone done; the administration has frequently done regular weekend maintenance, usually on Sunday mornings from 1 a.m ET to 5 a.m. ET.
During the maintenance checks, the website's application and enrollment system are unavailable, official say. But one section of the website that verifies income and citizenship information, known as the Data Services Hub, will function as normal, according to officials.
The administration is racing towards Saturday's self-imposed deadline....

Looks like something off a Sicilian road side. “Nothing to see here. Hit accomplished. No survivors.”
Good looking boy!
He is. He is a giant baby though.
Oh, for crying out loud, WHO writes these articles?!
A website that works 9-5
insane
Don’t you get it? It doesn’t matter if it works 10 times worse than it does now. It will be praised as the greatest comeback in American history by the fawning Obama/Clinton media. And most Americans will agree. Seems impossible, but I really think it’s so.
Wall-to-wall anecdotal stories of the unbelievable success by Obama will fill every mainstream media outlet in America. Triumphant and condescending speeches will be made by Dear Leader, as he is roundly adored.
You have to know that. For me, I just hope enough American sleepers wake up and realize that our country will slip away if these rampant, repulsive bunch of liberals aren’t tossed the hell out soon.
There is one solution that puts the brakes on this, but I won’t post it here because it will just get deleted.

The parts that required competent software managers and programmers to accomplish; 20% of the total web site, but 80% of the expected functionality missing.
We could arrange that. if only IPAB (aka Death Panel) were working properly...
Once again MAINTENANCE is used for something that works already
Obama don't swing that way.
Precisely. And the Propaganda Wing of the White House* will tout poll after poll showing the American people now approve of Barack Obama at the 100% level.

Agree. The issue isn't the website failure. We can laugh and poke fun at that. The bigger issue is the law itself.
Even if they got the website 100% fixed to perfection, the law and all it's badness still remains. Plus, I'm guessing even if they did fix it, sign ups will be rare based on people's security concerns. That's when you'll watch this administration grow more desperate
A functioning site only means more voters learn how bad it is. How expensive. How limiting. No doctors. Higher deductibles
Young healthys will largely opt for penalty. Those desperate and heavy users will start the death spiral spinning.
Geek Squad would make sure it never works, ever again. If they could find it to return it to the taxpayers after they worked on it.
There is so much money being stolen from the taxpayers. Yet not one congress person is saying anything about it. Hearings should be held. But, as long as the NSA has Boner scared to death, that won’t happen.
Good info. This property grab needs to be highly publicized. I read about this a few weeks ago. This imminent theft inches us ever closer to violent confrontations between the federal fascist bureaucrats and the people.
We’re making a list
Checking it twice.
Gonna find who’s naughty or nice...
They announced it in advance.
