THE NUCLEAR OPTION: SARAH PALIN KNEW A DEATH PANEL WHEN SHE SAW ONE
Big Government ^ | 11/6/2013 | CHARLES HURT

Posted on 11/07/2013 4:07:54 AM PST by markomalley

Mama Grizzly warned us this would happen.

Under Obamacare, the sick and weak and old would stand before death panels of bureaucrats to be granted life or death.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was laughed off the stage for making what we now know is a prescient prediction four years ago. Perhaps she is one of the few who actually read the healthcare bill before it passed.

"And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course," she wrote on her Facebook page in 2009.

"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil."

President Obama and his blind supporters who were busy not reading the bill howled in protest, calling Palin an irresponsible liar unworthy of the public political stage.

The media's alleged keeper of the truth PolitiFact declared the assertion the "Lie of the Year."

FactCheck.org, another alleged "truth" panel, summarily dismissed the claim as a "whopper."

Now comes cancer survivor Edie Littlefield Sundby.

Sarah Palin: Statement on the Current Health Care Debate

August 7, 2009 - by Al B. · 251 replies · 8,525+ views

As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost.

And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear.

Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.

take out the extra space in the Reagan quote. . .

It just occurred to me that this is, perhaps, the beginning of the so-called “zombie apocalypse” - millions of the living dead (or soon to be dead because Obamacare has denied them their healthcare) who decide to extract their revenge against government, both politicians and bureaucrats, in a last act of deadly defiance.

That's exactly why I hate this idea of "let it get implemented so it can crash and burn!" It will crash, but it will never burn. It'll always, always be with us.

She forgot to mention (but I’m sure she knows) the other purpose of the death panels is to deny treatment to their political enemies. All treatment will be based on political affiliation. They have all the information in the giant data centers. It is the final solution. They played America like a cheap fiddle. Stupid morons.

Reagan and Palin are right in principle, that getting rid of a new government program is nearly impossible. But we are in a different space than we ever have been. Those intractable programs of old, especially under FDR, were never so poorly received by so many people for so long. This is a law that has never achieved critical mass of legitimacy, even with dozens of dems running around trying to make it so by saying so. It's not happening. The usual glue of resignation and respect for authority are lacking, the shiny new program is not adhering as it used to in days of old, and if we can, to paraphrase a Conan Doyle character, make a science of destabilizing this law, we have a real shot at getting out from under it. The key is persistence. Truly, we must never, ever give up. That will win it, God helping us.

Spot on!! Just look at the thousands of pages they've (unconstitutionally) added just to "fix" their original (unconstitutional) tax/law of the land....since it was *passed*.

This behemoth will never go away, it will just continue to grow like the floating island of tsunami garbage.

I’ve thought the same thing. It seems like someone with late stage cancer would really have nothing to lose.

Yep, the Left might have opened a big can of worms. Of course, they might be prepared for it, hence the many stories of the Fed's large ammo purchases....
