That's exactly why I hate this idea of "let it get implemented so it can crash and burn!" It will crash, but it will never burn. It'll always, always be with us.
Reagan and Palin are right in principle, that getting rid of a new government program is nearly impossible. But we are in a different space than we ever have been. Those intractable programs of old, especially under FDR, were never so poorly received by so many people for so long. This is a law that has never achieved critical mass of legitimacy, even with dozens of dems running around trying to make it so by saying so. It's not happening. The usual glue of resignation and respect for authority are lacking, the shiny new program is not adhering as it used to in days of old, and if we can, to paraphrase a Conan Doyle character, make a science of destabilizing this law, we have a real shot at getting out from under it. The key is persistence. Truly, we must never, ever give up. That will win it, God helping us.

You make a very good point.
Spot on!! Just look at the thousands of pages they've (unconstitutionally) added just to "fix" their original (unconstitutional) tax/law of the land....since it was *passed*.
This behemoth will never go away, it will just continue to grow like the floating island of tsunami garbage.
