Hitler was never elected to ANYTHING. Period. He could not run for office in the Weimar Republic because he wasn’t a citizen. Laws were changed in ‘32, if I recall correctly and then he ran for President not a member of the German parliament.
The left believes that the world has several billion too many people. The left gets what it wants, and it wants massive population reduction. A recent novel by Dan Brown is attempting to make the idea of mass, involuntary sterilization respectable, or - at the very least - to “start the conversation.” It may be five years down the road or it may be thirty years. Just gassing people would be too obvious, so it will be done through mass sterilization or some sort of “accidental” catastrophe. Perhaps global warming will be the scapegoat for the outbreak of some mass epidemic that is actually human-caused and deliberate.
For what it’s worth, mass sterilization is preferable to mass starvation.
I think the issue breaks down much further than education or knowledge.
When your neighbor has been harassed, arrested or disappeared, what are you left to do ?
When laws are written in ways that virtually anything you do can be interpreted as a violation, will you continue ?
When something you say or do today can be connected to something you said 5 or 10 years ago in an email or internet post and that is being used to prosecute you, what will you do ?
When the Government can track virtually all your activities, what will you do ?
There are a handful of people that “get” this and a much greater number of people that simply don’t care because they “trust” the government.
Who among the brave, well armed patriots are going to defend their home from a search warrant being executed by a swat team because you wrote an email/web post that was deemed “threatening” to the Government ?
We are quickly moving to a point in our great nation that the government reigns supreme. Any objection to the “governments intentions” are increasingly becoming redefined as a threat to the country as a whole.
It’s very very sad.

There was some woman in Colorado named Maury Grimm who in an on-line petition proposed sending all the Republican pols voting for the shutdown be sent to prison. Or just executed for “treason.” Kevin Williamson of NRO actually contacted her in the belief she might have been joking or exaggerating. No, she was serious. People who disagreed with her and “the will of the people” should be jailed or executed. She was not the only Dem/lib who believe in those sentiment. Who are the real fascists?

There does in fact seem to be a developing convergence of events, some man-made and some natural, that’s likely to leave a body-count in this country alone in nine digits.

Each day I see people putting their heads in the sand and “singing louder” (watch the video to understand). I doubt there is any way to get through to them. Self preservation is a strong instinct even if one only preserves themselves for a short time before it is their turn to “willingly” run off the cliff with the other lemmings instead of turning and fighting their supposed masters.
