Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist will launch his gubernatorial campaign this morning at a public rally to be held at Albert Whitted Park near his St. Petersburg home.

"I'm looking forward to Monday and making it official in every way," Crist said on Friday. "I just hope that the message that we deliver will lift Florida's spirits and let her know that there's a brighter future tomorrow. And it's coming."

I remember when he was still a supposed Republican and the alphabet media wanted to do a hit job on him. They did a primetime expose with interviews of his ‘girlfriend’ at the time. The whole show revolved around her being a beard.

Demographics, decadence and Democrats. Florida in decline. The repulsive Charlie Crist reflects the habits and values of a near majority. No law or program can alleviate the poverty of spirit

I think the Green Iguana in Tampa would be a more fitting venue.

That is a positive for Democrats. We better have a good candidate or not only will we lose Virginia, Pennsylvania, we will lose Florida too. God knows how many other governorships we will lose next year.

In a flashback to May 2009:

"The National Republican Senatorial Committee will be endorsing Crist, according to a senior Hill operative, marking the first time it has taken sides (for a non-incumbent) in a competitive GOP primary this election cycle.

NRSC chairman John Cornyn
[the second most conservatice man in the Senate®] made the endorsement official this morning, casting Crist as the most electable candidate to hold the seat for the GOP."

Charlie is what is wrong with politics for both parties today....guys who do theater presentations and pretend to be political figures. If you told Charlie he needed to be a Tea Party Republican....he’d pretend to be one. If you said Charlie needed to be a gay Democrat environmentalist...he’d pretend to be one.

Both parties are suffering from wannabe-itis...guys with no true compass or beliefs...just actors.

‘...Both parties are suffering from.....guys with no true compass or beliefs...’

Agree! Crist, like Alex Sink, will say or do what it takes to meet THEIR personal agendas. Crist is a chameleon...will change to be what will gain him the most ‘points’. Sink is willing to move from Hillsborough to Pinellas County to run for seat vacated by deceased Rep. Bill Young. Doubt she has any vested interest in the people of Pinellas County but she wants to go to Congress ...so will be/do whatever it takes. Will citizens ever wake up???

I remember that day very well. As SOON as I heard it reported, I called the headquarters of the NRSC....spoke to a very nice young lady, and told her to get my message to John Cornyn: stay OUT of this race.

I told them it was not for the DC establishment to decide between two legitimate Republican candidates....the voters should choose and then the NRSC should support the winner. I also reminded them of Crist’s embrace of Obama and his porkulus.

The person I spoke to was very cordial and indicated that they had already heard from many other citizens expressing the same sentiment.
