I agree 100%.

We need to make things in America.

We need to stop importing everything, and we need to balance our trade.

We need to do all those things.

We are spending our country.

BRING BACK AMERICAN JOBS.

Now.

Why work when you can make more money living on the Government dole (welfare, food stamps, housing subsidies, etc), not to mention you are eligible for Medicaid.

Why should they work? Obama EO’d the ‘Secretary’ (Sebelius, of course) the power to tell states that they no longer have to get proof that anyone on welfare is actually looking for a job. Free money at the expense of hard working Americans who believe you should work for what you have. Obama did not grow up in America. HE HAS NO WORK ETHIC HIMSELF. Why should his minions have a work ethic??

I can understand where some people get on it to survive the way the job market is but as we know there are many more who are on it because it is there and they do not want to work and/or it is the only thing they know after being on it for generations. This is unsustainable and a bad thing for this country as we all know.

Meanwhile, there were just 101.7 million people with full-time jobs, the Census data show, including both the private and government sectors.

This makes it far worse than the head line would suggest because the government is now the nations largest individual employer.

It all the worse because government workers taxes debts are paid from private sector worker’s taxes. Very few government workers actually contribute to the nations GDP.

And there are now more corrupt unionized government employees than exist in all of private sector America.

They can’t possibly increase taxes enough to cover the monthly nut.

Survival of the Unfit

Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution (often referred to as The Theory of Survival of the Fittest) describes the positive effects resulting from any “pressure” on an animal species that removes the least fit among the species and allows only the most fit of the species to reproduce. Many of us are well aware of this “Survival of the Fittest” theory, but few are aware that Darwin also makes mention of the negative effects resulting from unlimited reproduction of a species’ least fit when the weak, the lazy, and the stupid are left unchecked.

We like to think otherwise, but our species, Homo sapiens, isn’t that long “out of the trees” and the same laws of nature that affect all of God’s creatures apply equally to us. If we were to observe any other species that had been allowed to reproduce without limitations, we would know immediately what the consequences will be.

Whenever the weak; lazy; and stupid of a species is allowed to reproduce unimpeded by predators that feed off the weak; lazy; and stupid, they soon outnumber the strong, productive, and intelligent. When the weak/lazy/stupid dominate the gene pool, the entire population becomes weak/ lazy/stupid, and then the population collapses.

In the past, when these collapses occurred within human populations, they have been referred to as a “Malthusian Collapse.” Thomas Malthus, a Nineteenth Century Economist, thought these collapses were caused simply because past civilizations had reached a point where human populations could no longer produce sufficient food supplies to feed themselves, but he never pinned down the exact reason for these food shortages.

We now think these collapses of past human civilizations have occurred whenever the unproductive weak/lazy/stupid greatly outnumber the strong/productive/intelligent of the population. In other words, the majority of the population becomes too lazy to perform the work necessary to provide for themselves and what’s left of the strong/productive/intelligent refuses to continue to do it for them.

These collapses have occurred at frequent intervals throughout human history, and Western Civilization is, in my humble opinion, currently on the cusp of one of these collapses.

I’ve been looking for full time work since the end of June. Even though I was eligible for about $330/week in unemployment benefits I figured sitting home collecting a check was an easy habit to get into so I started looking right away. So far I’ve found a 3 week temp job at $9.25/hr was the best offer I could find. There is plenty of work at places like Kroger, McDonalds, Home Depot, etc., that pay minimum wage for 20 hours per week with no benefits and virtually no chance of making full time with benefits. I took a job at Kroger for a while because I thought that unemployment would compensate me enough to bring it to what I would get by sitting at home but they bungled it so badly that to this day I have collected exactly 1 check. Now I’ve quit Kroger, won’t look for anything that isn’t at least temp to perm and will wait for a check because they punished me for trying.

Today on the news they made a big deal about UPS taking on thousands of new workers. What they didn’t mention is that the jobs are seasonal, paying $8.50/hr with no benefits. Again, it’s not worth passing up my unemployment check.

My wife and I are very fortunate. For years I held down a good job, enough so that we have a house that is paid for (along with everything in it and our vehicles), no debt and some savings to pay the bills. My plan now is to keep looking for work while at the same time exploring other countries with a lower cost of living that we can move to. If I can’t find anything I will sell everything we have and get the Hell out of Dodge. My American Dream is in tatters. I didn’t throw it away by overspending, or drugging and drinking myself to ruin, or not working my butt off all of my life. It just collapsed around us.

An answer to this is to shore up the tax code so that the elite; the power brokers and politicans actually pay for allowing the system to reward non-work over work.

The reason it goes on is it doesn’t hurt the big girls and the big boys. When they realize 100 million are getting a free ride on their tail, it will stop.

But I’m no tax expert, so...

I don’t think it means more people are on welfare than working. there are a few of those programs, like food stamps, wic, public housing and Medicaid, where some also work. the real number should be simply those collecting welfare cash benefits.

This article grossly understates the problem, because it ignores the millions of people on government payrolls.

The private sector simply cannot support the millions on government payrolls combined with the over 100 million people on some sort of welfare.

This is why we have exceeded $17,000,000,000,000 of debt and continue to print fake money to the the tune of $80,000,000,000 per month.

The system is crashing under its own weight with the “takers” taking much much more than the decreasing number of “makers” can ever produce. The FedGov’s “solution” is to print money until the whole system implodes. Welcome to the third world. FUBO
