I agree folks need an outlet, but honestly, this was the only real end game this political theater was going to have.
No one, and I mean no one, was going to risk a preventable default over political theater.
I think we could have gotten more, lets face it, Senate Republicans wouldn’t even hold the line at requiring Obama and the Congress to be forced into Obamacare.... That’s how pathetic they were.
However the end game of not getting much of anything out of it, was always how this was going to end.
I do think, and I know the talking heads aren’t talking about it, that a significant awakening is happening in the electorate, many apolitical types were exposed to just how out of touch DC is with the nation and things we exist for them.
The pivotal image of this theater was not anything that any politician did, it was Vets having to storm their own monuments to take them back from the political elite, who needlessly tried to take them away.
THAT’S POWERFUL! a full 60% of the electorate no longer identifies with any party... And those apolitical types just saw the gloves come off of the big government mind set.
I know a year is a long time in politics, but what was just seen, is not something that isn’t going to light fires in a lot of belly’s who wheretofore had no political interest

You could not be more wrong.
First, your logic leads to the conclusion that the republicans should never mount a fight over anything because they will be defeated by the liberal media.
What about the gun control defeat? The tabling of immigration reform? The last fight over the sequester?
Second, the liberal media is losing viewership and readership year over year and is not the force it once was. The alternative news media and blogosphere are mature enough now to inform Americans of the truth and facts.
Third, Cruz’ strategy caused Obama’s poll number to sink to 37%.
It is not the media that has sunk the republicans, it is the lack of courage and vision of its leadership.
Lost cause. No one who would stand up for conservatism is electable to this position.
Because, once again, Republicans failed at message management. The one chance they had to reframe the debate they wasted because assclowns like Peter King and John McCain used the stage to attack Ted Cruz instead of 0bama.
I would add that we will even cut he military, with the exception of active combat operations. Shut it all down. All of it.
We don't even control the Senate, let alone have a majority of conservatives.

Boehner is no angel and IMO he did not put forth much effort to fight Obammy on the shutdown/debt celing/ZeroCare. It just adds up to too much. McConnell is a traitor, too. Don’t let him get away, either.

Given how establishment Republicans treated Sarah Palin during the last presidential election cycle, the real blame goes to those establishment Republicans that fear good people in office.

Just last night republicans stood up to Boehner and said they would not vote with him on his compromise bill.
Boehner has had to resort to ignoring the Hastert Rule, breaking his promise to republican members that no bill would be voted on that did not have a majority of republican support.
There is enough support in the House to remove him. They need only to hear from their constituents!
McConnell is actually WORSE than Boehner. Boehner at least hit Obama in every speech. McConnel said NOTHING, and engineered this surrender with Reid.
