I don’t know if the biker cop was so much a cop thing or a black thing. It sounds more like he was a black who got caught up in the hate orientals frenzy, like he couldn’t help it.
Dwayne Hickman (Dobie Gillis) was in it too. I liked him and Maynard G Krebs. "Work" was a 4 letter word.

So I’m still not clear. Were these cops on the job (undercover) as part of this gang or were they off-duty and doing this for fun? Even this report refers to this one cop as “off-duty, undercover”. WTF?

I don't see a whole lot of evidence of this. Perhaps the good cops are so outnumbered by the bad ones that they are afraid to speak out. That would make sense given the reflexive support you tend to see out here when one gets caught doing something, or shoots "a civilian" pretty much regardless of the circumstances unless it's on at least 3 simultaneous videos.

I don’t think anyone has given a clear explanation. I think he was just an off-duty cop, who fed the media a lie that he was under cover when he really never was. I don’t believe any of them were under cover. I think they’re just crooked thugs.

Here in the northeast their status as “preferred minorities” supersedes all else (fitness, intelligence, mental health); for many it has become a workfare program. When the local paper showed a picture of a ceremony a few years ago when Newark NJ laid off 160 cops, you wouldn’t believe the fat asses on many of them (and they were the newest hires). A couple looked tough (probably military veterans); the rest weren’t about to enforce any laws that required them to stand up.
I only ever see ‘good cops’ find excuses to defend bad cops. Remember the innocent victims in the Dorner hunt? The lack of any LEO outcry? Remember Officer Harless of Canton OH?
Cops are not interested in holding other cops to account, least they do something wrong themselves.
