Today, from 9am to 11am, bikers will be rallying at Washington D.C.s WWII Memorial that has been closed to the public due to the federal government shutdown. The bikers plan to honor the WWII veterans and show their support.
...
Riders! Kick Stands Up and lets ride for these American Heroes!! Americas Greatest Generation defended our rights 70 years ago. Now its time that we defend THEIR rights and ensure they have access to THEIR Memorials. Its time we show our government that we will no longer tolerate the political thugs that feel they can punish America into submission!! We are done with it!!
Lets roll!!
Eric Zern is coordinating the event and he also coordinated the protest against the Muslim March on the 12th anniversary of 9/11 in D.C. The event brought an estimated 880,000 bikers, despite them being denied a permit to rally.

Another thread on it here:

And here (Congress Amodei (R-NV) there to help break the barricades and with more Congressmen, Representatives Huizenga and Amash on site; and, apparently, Reps Bachman and King are there, too: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3075220/posts
I can’t find it now, but I read another thread this a.m. re the Bikers and there was a link to a Facebook page with pictures, etc. I do recall reading on that thread that the rangers said they could go through the back entrance but wouldn’t let the Vets through the front/main entrance - - the bikers were not happy about that! I don’t do Facebook, so can’t search there, but, there was a link on the FR thread, wish I could find it :-(
There’s a protest today at Pigsah Inn, NC http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3075183/posts
and also at Cape Hatteras National Seashore:

doing a search by protest and titles on FR, it appears there are various protests today or yesterday - labor unions protest shutdown at Capitol yesterday - only about 100 showed up, so probably that’s why I didn’t hear about it: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3075007/posts
The orders of the Commander-in-Chief will go down through the ranks from the highest generals to the NCO's in the field. If they are ordered to fire at patriotic Americans, their orders will inform them that these people are "insurgents" and "traitors". Those orders will be followed, and anybody who does not follow those orders will be shot on the spot.
But it probably won't come to that. When the drones and biological weapons are deployed under martial law, FEMA will be able to handle it. Federal paramilitaries will simply follow their orders because they always follow the orders of those who pay them.
Hopefully this time they have awakened the “Sleeping Giant”
Millions of deer and big game hunters in the U.S.A.are salivating at the chance to honor their fore- fathers
I’m sorry you are such a pessimist. When this country was formed less than 15% of the people participated. We won anyway. There is a difference between people who fight because they fear death and people who fight because they fear slavery. It might be best for those who don’t believe in this country to hide behind the womenfolk,
They say that promotions are not political until you reach Colonel. The troops report to the junior officers.
I thought this was a bike ride. Would you be towing anyone`s ride? I`d sure love to join the other bikers.
I like that. Thanks for posting it.
There were offices and NCOs in Vietnam who thought that was the way it worked also. Does the term "fragging" or "fragged" mean anything to you?
The Obozo and his thugs in the outhouse and park service need to realize that if they create/cause a Kent State incident with our vets. All hell on earth will descend on them and the rats in congress for the next decade!
Charley was right.
Since Jan. 2009 we only thought nobama could not get any worse and then he did. If Conservative Americans were not such American loving Patriots, nobama would have already ignited SHTF.
Just like the Japs, Iraq and Al-Qaida, America can be spit on and pushed around .... to a point and when we finally get a craw full its all over except the shouting.
That D-Day picture is awesome. I wish there were some way to get a copy to each of the vets who were there at the memorial.
I agree. That one is quite special!
The OM was the engine officer for LST-66. They got 50 cal deck guns in a trade with a marine ship in Papua New Guinea. Real men will not tolerate this BS
What it looked like today.

I’ll take your bet and indeed bet on it. Moreover I’m here to see that everyone near me is armed to the teeth with a good deal of the 300 million+ privately owned firearms in the USA. I’ve said for the past half century that if I have to march to defend my rights I’ll be carrying at least one of the weapons I was carrying when I took that oath to defend-— a long time ago. I have no intention of being ordered around by a punk park ranger who has no real authority to order anything but french fries.
You’re making the case for fragging-—passing out illegal orders has a way of increasing retalliation against dumbasses who blindly follow stupid instructions/orders. And when everybody down the C of C is already armed they have a way of forcing a “discussion” of the merits of the order.
Let's say I followed orders and went out into the boonies with my men. If I let them radio in false positions while they smoked pot and sat around, and if I were caught, I would be court-martialed and end up in Leavenworth. If I did my duty, followed orders and executed that patrol as my CO demanded, I had a chance of being fragged by my men. Which would I choose?
I hoped I would never be put in that position, but if I were, I would follow my orders to the letter. I would rely on my senior NCO's, who I'm sure would be an experienced, hard-bitten lot, for advice, but I would follow orders.
