WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) released the following statement regarding today's vote in the Senate to invoke cloture on H.J. Res. 59:
"Today's vote by Sen. Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats to fully fund Obamacare was yet the latest example of Washington not listening to the people.
"Obamacare is a 'train wreck,' a 'nightmare,' to use the words of its Democratic author and a union leader who previously supported the bill. It is the biggest job killer in America.
"As Teamsters President James Hoffa explained in a letter to Sen. Harry Reid and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Obamacare is hurting 'millions of working men and women ... and the families they support,' and it 'will destroy the very health and wellbeing of our members along with millions of other hardworking Americans.'
"Senate Democrats refused to listen.
"President Obama has granted exemptions for big business and Members of Congress, but Senate Democrats refuse to grant the American people the same exemption. Instead, they used political power to maintain their privileged position while doing nothing to respond to the pleas of millions of Americans.
"But this fight continues. Now the bill returns to the House. The House showed remarkable courage voting to defund Obamacare, and I hope and believe that the House will stand by their resolve and continue to lead the effort to stop the Obamacare train wreck.
"Obamacare is killing jobs, forcing people into part-time work, causing health insurance premiums to skyrocket, and threatening the healthcare of millions of Americans.
"Today, far too many Republicans joined Harry Reid in giving the Democrats the ability to fund Obamacare. When the bill comes back to the Senate, when the House yet again stands for principle and fights for the American people, I very much hope that Senate Republicans will rise to the challenge. We are stronger when we are united, and we can defeat Obamacare only if Senate Republicans come together, stand with House Republicans, and champion the millions of Americans being harmed by this disastrous healthcare law."

He has more faith in Boehner than I do.
I have zero faith in Boehner if past actions are predictors of future behavior.
What the hell am I voting for when I vote Republican?
It's a crap shoot that's become just too dangerous.
Democrats know exactly what they're voting for when they vote Democrat.
I know exactly what I seek to vote for: limited government. PERIOD. I want a party that is going to vote for limiting government. Limited government is by definition the best friend of conservatism, the best friend of morality (government force skews morality in the form of civil rights laws and welfare), the best friend of commerce and prosperity.
Today proves that voting Republican is voting for more government. Voting for it is crazy.
The Democrat is worse, so many tell me. So keep voting for the government-growing Republicans. Hmmmmm ... and Democrats I know are disgusted with Obama and government tyranny, but they vote Democrat because to them, the Republican would be worse. But a lot of them are feeling the same way as I am. It sure looks that way to me, anyway.
American flags used to be seasonal, 4th of July and Memorial day. Now you see them all year round, everywhere. American flags popping up across the nation in windows, on cars, in restaurants, in vacant lots, in front yards, hanging from the walls of business buildings.
They mean something. They transcend Democrat or Republican meaning. I think Americans are getting restless. I think legit voters resent the hell out of government tyranny and want a party they can vote for that will stand for cutting back government and restoring rights to self-governance.
The events to-date merely reinforce my decision.
Believe me, Cruz knows Boehner is a phony, and his compliments of this fraud are purely strategic. Bob

I watched Ted Cruz during his valiant effort to halt the disaster called Obamacare. I hope you watched it as well. If he has used it once, he used the phrase “...we no longer listen to the people, our constituents...” over a hundred times. And he was right...they don’t. And the fact is, THEY NO LONGER NEED TO.
I’ve sent my little rant on this topic before but Ted’s honest comment compels me to do so again.

WHY THE POLITICAL RULING CLASS NO LONGER LISTENS TO US!
Among others, Thomas Jefferson warned that the financial disaster we now face would be but one of many problems paper money would visit upon us if we allowed our “leaders” to remove the backing from the currency, to wit:
“When the servants of the people are paid with something other than that which the people themselves have produced (i.e. the real, tangible products of their labors or some fixed and real medium of that exchange), the roles of master and servant will be reversed.”
It was believed by Roger Sherman and a majority of those at the Constitutional Convention that un-backed currency would so damage the fabric of the nation that they ATTEMPTED to prohibit it with these few words at Article 1, Section 10, requiring the states to enforce the prohibition: “No State shall…make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts;”
If the people and their states grew inattentive to this matter (and they have!), Jefferson also saw this problem ahead:
In a letter to John Taylor in 1816, he wrote, “And I sincerely believe, with you, that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies; and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.”
We have been “…swindling futurity…” for a long time and this is now where we find ourselves. If the government, through its banker masters at the Federal Reserve, can create “money” from thin air, they certainly don’t need ours every April 15th. That annual sheep shearing is simply an attempt to vacuum enough of the excess paper from the system to keep the rest of us from catching on to the biggest theft ring in the history of man. They have now created so much that their attempt is failing and failing badly to a point where all but the dullest among us (Obama voters and his growing cadres of personal and corporate welfare beneficiaries) are starting to “get it.”
If you understood that last paragraph, you can now make the small leap to an understanding as to why the “progressive” utopian welfare state hacks in Washington don’t give a damn WHAT you think. Their power to create all the “money” they need to fuel their infernal machine and fill the gaping maws of enough of those hoards of welfare constituents to assure their perpetual re-election means that — ready — THEY NO LONGER NEED YOU! They have become, as Mr. Jefferson predicted, our MASTERS.
That they are taking down a nation and a system that has provided more wealth, safety and abundance to more people than any other in history matters not to them. Failing to grasp the lesson of the French Revolution, they believe themselves to be above the impending disaster.
We’re running out of time to get this increasingly rapacious beast back into the cage from which we have carelessly allowed it to escape.
Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants... bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society. Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors. [but he’s not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

The Democrats won the 2008 and 2012 elections because millions of conservatives abstained from voting. That milquetoast RINO’s dominate the GOP is because those same conservatives have not voted in the primary elections.
McCain is thinking of running for pres in 2016.
McCain is just a trick to have conservatives stay home.
We need a whisper campaign that bypasses the money boys.
Cruz is wrong on this; people want all the liberalism they can stand and then some.
