Transgender Student In Huntington Beach (California) Named Homecoming Queen
CBS News ^ | September 20, 2013

A transgender student at Marina High School in Huntington Beach made history Friday evening by becoming the school’s Homecoming Queen.

Cassidy Lynn Campbell, who was among five finalists, was selected for the coveted title. The announcement was made during halftime of Friday night’s game.

Earlier in the day, students reportedly erupted in cheers when it was announced that Campbell was among the finalists.

“I think it’s really awesome ’cause a lot of people wouldn’t be able to do what she does. I mean … I would be so scared and she’s accepting everything that everyone is saying. She’s taking it all in … in a good way,” Janet Tran, a student, told CBS2′s Joy Benedict.

After capturing the crown, Campbell told KCAL9′s Cristy Fajardo that she finally feels accepted after years of feeling that she didn’t fit in.

My Alma Mater, class of 1973.
“Reporting live from Westminster” means they still don’t have their own football stadium.
Our nickname for Marina High School was “The Rock.”
I can’t even find a picture of it on the ‘net.
Seriously, it looks like a prison, complete with moat which is actually a flood control ditch.

“What high school kid WOULDN’T vote for the freak, as a joke?”

BINGO.

Our prom class really voted for the class GEEK and the sex-crazed cheerleader as homecoming king and queen. Really happened. What you, as a senior will remember, will be your date.

The son does a better job of looking like a girl than the mom. I mean, with a face like that, she could haunt houses for a living.

I'm not going to join in the chorus here of making fun of the youngster. This is a mixed-up kid who is obviously getting crappy parenting - enabled further by a feckless school faculty who allow this boy to come to class presented as girl.

Used to be that sissies got beat up in school and they usually ended up "manning up" and was the better for it in the long run. Now they put on dresses and get treated like "special" people. Not sure that's a change for the good.

Now I'm not condoning bullying but the world is full of men who as boys were tormented in school for being "sissy" and the experience caused them to go out there and over-achieve, making six-figure salaries and having more girls than they can handle hanging off their arms while the big-shot jocks who bullied them end up going bald early pumping gas and stocking lumber at Home Depot for a living, telling little old ladies that the mousetraps are in aisle 7.

What I'm saying is, this kid is making a mistake by trying to turn himself into a girl just because he feels like he is condemned to be a sissy. Not all men have to be good at sports and know how to bang nails into wood with a hammer.

This whole "boy turns into a girl" stuff never ends well anyhow. By the time you are 30, you end up looking like Robert Plant in size 12 heels and your entire sex life is one depraved train wreck after another. Face it sissy boys, you will never be mothers and true women. Make the best of what nature handed you and eventually some woman will marry you and you can have a decent life after all. Let the woman wear the pants in the family if that's your thing but at least you can have a couple of kids and respect yourself when you get up in the morning and look in the mirror.

As for this "homecoming queen" nonsense, it's just an extension of political correctness run amok. I can remember gym class from when I was going to school and I was always one of the kids picked last for a team because when I was a boy, I was tall and gangly and sucked at sports. Then the gym teacher, thinking he was being benevolent, announced that he would pick the teams, so that "others would have a chance of being picked first." Sure enough, I was one of the first people "picked" for a team but instead of feeling special, I felt even worse because now even the gym teacher has singled me out as being a "loser." It would have been better to have been picked last by a peer.

Same situation here. Boy wears a dress to school and in order to create an artificial climate of "tolerance", it is decided to pick him (ahead of the girls) to be "home-coming queen." The practice does no favors for anybody. Not for both the students and especially not for the victim du jour.

15 year old me sure would have liked that.

You had better tie it down good. One woody and you'd be out of there.

“As for this “homecoming queen” nonsense, it’s just an extension of political correctness run amok.”

No doubt P.C. has a lot to do with it, however I suspect other factors are involved. Teen rebellion for one — voting for the drag Queen is like poking the old fogies* in the eye. Jealousy is another — only one girl gets to be Queen. If you’re one of the many others; what better way to get back at the “popular girls” than to deny them their big prize? Well, making a mockery of that prize is probably even better. Finally, there’s the “15 Minutes of Fame” factor. How many national stories are written about high schools, where the Homecoming King is a boy, and the Homecoming Queen is a girl? They’ll still be talking about this at their 25th Annual Reunion.

You make some good points. And if the students wanted to make a mockery of the "homecoming queen" prize - well, mission accomplished.

I do feel bad for the kid though. While everybody else pats themselves on the back for being "tolerant" and "progressive", this young boy is headed for a train wreck. His parents and his elders have failed him by enabling him in this misguided path.

The college equivalent of Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

What both are saying is: “EFF YOU AMERICA!”

The sickness in our Nation is rising. Unless the people stand up against this, America will be unrecognizable in 25 years.
I am sorry this young person is mentally ill. I am sorrier still that our Government will not accept that and allow this young person to get the help they need.

And this is what makes you wonder if America is worth saving. For this generation?

Yeah, I understand what you're saying, but the left understands full well that kids love to thumb their noses at their parents' "outmoded" morals and they capitalize on it. The kids' reaction isn't surprising.

I really feel sorry for the Queen. Poor kid's going to be really, really screwed up.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

The kids cheer because their marxist God hating teachers have taught them their values. And their parents dutifully deliver them to the camp every school day.

“My school isn’t like that”
