Graves and his 42 co-sponsors are hoping to flip the usual “government shutdown” narrative on its head by putting a year’s worth of government funding on the table and daring the Democrats to shut down the government to protect ObamaCare, which hasn’t been looking any more popular in the latest round of polls.

Amen to this!

Unfortunately, the Dems have no interest in a years’ worth of funding either. It would deprive them of one of their main tools with which to bash Republicans.

I’ve thought about this some more. I still think the chances of this getting through are slim. But that said I do think its a more clever approach than many. Truth be told if we were to give up the sequester in exchange for a 2 year moratorium it would probably be a fair deal.

Sure. I’ll make the call. It’ll take me all of 2 minutes. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

“I like the Fairness part. That really sticks it back to them.”

Good point.

I think I would upgrade it to the “Stability, Security, Fairness, and For-the-Children” Resolution”.

Americans first instinct is to be law abiding and to obey rules regardless of how self defeating those rules may be.

All gop leadership DOES support boehnercare. The question is whether the backbenchers are willing to buck the leadership and say no.

I’m extremely skeptical but hey, it costs all of a 2 minute phone call to voice your support for this plan.

The gigantic federal government is now funded by an endless string of emergency spending resolutions, a stack of fiscal Band-Aids high enough to reach the Moon.

THIS needs to stop, and Congress has a responsibility to pass the 12 or 13 appropriations bills that are on their charter of annual actions. The District of Corruption needs to be burned to the ground (figuratively) and start all over again.
