Waking a Sleeping Giant in Colorado
National Review ^ | 12 sept 2013 | John Lott

Posted on 09/12/2013 7:28:01 AM PDT by rellimpank

Two weeks ago, the Washington Post declared the recall elections of two powerful state senators in Colorado a national “referendum on guns.” Indeed, the defeat of state-senate president John Morse and fellow state senator Angela Giron will cause some Democrats to rethink their push on gun control.

But of course, many Democrats have reacted by shrugging off the results. Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has dismissed the losses as the result of “voter suppression, pure and simple” (orchestrated by the National Rifle Association and the Koch brothers, of course). Mark Glaze, executive director of Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns, predicted that the victory by gun owners would be short-lived at best and that gun-control legislators would take comfort in knowing that his group “will have their back.”

“Sleeping Giant”? Maybe. The term has been used so many times to little avail.

Douglas County, Colorado has a big School Board fight coming up in November.

We kicked out the teacher’s union and took back control of our schools and the liberals are pretty angry.

Keep the grass roots fight going!

It was a national "referendum on guns" until the DIMS lost.

Yes Debbie, we “suppressed” the fraudulent voting you rely on for installing control freaks.

--as you may be aware, when the new Repub government in Wisconsin removed the teachers union and its insurance plan from the picture , the resultant savings were sufficient to prevent teacher layoffs in nearly all school districts-

-and , while I haven't seen any recent figures , the membership in all of the municipal and state unions has plummeted since there is no automatic dues checkoff---

“Sleeping giant?”

“Sleeping gnats” more appropriate?

Just a temporary annoyance to the political class.

Pay attention!

We will send our Dem Guv back to his tavern and one U.S. Senator back to his farm in 2014.

Yeah, I've heard "Tipping Point" on FR so many times that I don't pay attention any more.

The oft-cited "narrative" changed like the climate, eh?

“the liberals are pretty angry.”

The people od Douglas are just as angry. Unfortunately, we’ve also have a lot of Dr. Spock liberals here.

Two weeks ago, the Washington Post declared the recall elections of two powerful state senators in Colorado a national “referendum on guns.”

When MSM liberals think they're got the win, they label it a 'referendum or bell weather event' etc. When the MSM's side loses, they either ignore the issue - or explain why the results were meaningless.

On FOX's 'The Five' yesterday Bob Beckel explained the results were meaningless because so few people bothered to vote... These people lack the backbone to even admit to losing...

Hardly. Why do you think the rats ran nominally pro-Second Amendment nominees for federal office starting in 2006. Ditto 2008, 2010 and 2012 where possible umtil Newtown, CT. The rats took the Second Amendment off the table for six years until they thought they could exploit the latest tragedy.

The Case of the Missing White Voters, Revisited

Pay attention. Thank Obama for reviving the right of self defense, even if he opposes it.
