An admitted serial rapist who attacked 38 women in California could be a free man within weeks after the states Supreme Court denied prosecutors requests to block his release from a state mental hospital.
As I mentioned, this story would be bad enough if Hubbart were just some monster that we caught and locked up, but this convoluted story should be the focus of a larger question of how we deal with serial recidivists. After his first spree of 29 rapes in the 70s,
Hubbart was put in a medical facility. Then, in 1979, he was released when officials determined that he no longer posed a threat to the public. He immediately moved north, attacking multiple women in San Francisco and Sunnyvale before being caught again and being sent to you guessed it a mental hospital. He was paroled a third time in 1990, whereupon he surprise, surprise attacked a female jogger and was taken into state care yet again. Now hes going to be released.
Three strikes and youre out? This guy has had more than three dozen at bats thus far and never changed his stripes. And hes not the only one. The criminal justice system deals with a tragically large number of monsters on a regular basis, and clever lawyers always seem to find a way to thwart the system. Even in permissive states where the death penalty is not allowed and this many attacks should really qualify somebody surely theres a way to draw a line beyond which you dont get another pass off the correctional campus.

I would suspect he will become a victim of lead poisoning if any of the victims or their relatives have their way....but then again, it’s Californicate and they might just give him a pension and free healthcare until he returns to prison.
At the nervous hospital they said I was well and they had to let me go. I don’t recon I’ll rape nobody. Umhummm
Let him try raping with his dick and scrotum cut off.
That’s my answer to recidivism.
What would we do without California? I dunno, but I’d like to try.
Guy is 62. At some point he’d be expected to slow down, though I guess the little blue pills might help.
Chemical or surgical castration has proved remarkably successful in preventing recidivism in some American states and a lot of foreign countries, particularly for child molesters. In some cases, recidivism rates have gone from over 90% to under 10%. In US at least I believe most cases have been voluntary.
IMO this blows a major hole in the theory that rape and molestation have “nothing to do with sex,” but instead with power and domination. Obviously rapists are into domination, but that’s all tangled up with sex for them. Compulsive sexual behavior can apparently be significantly reduced by castration, at least for those individuals who sincerely don’t want to behave that way.

Thats my answer to recidivism.
Or this way
No spittin’ in front of women and children?
LOL that is a casterating gun we used to turn billys into nannys...Those little rubber thingies are the size of cheerios, and males have good size gonads by 3 months. On occasion we had to do an adult....make my son turn green when he saw an adult billy done,
It is California, what else you expect?
Lasting foolproof therapy for rapists? A .45 between the eyes from about four feet away. Woks every time, even on child molesters.
That's the standard story.
You know what it's based on, don't you?
It's based on the sexual revolution theory that sex is always good, that it is never negative or evil.
So of course rape and child molestation, which almost everyone will agree is evil, can't really be sex, can they? So people repeat the mantra without ever really thinking about it.
Why must sex always be a good thing? Any other human emotion or drive can be turned to evil, why not sex?
What you are doing here is defining "sex" as always being kind, loving and consensual. Anything else isn't "really" sex, it's something else. Why can't the sex drive be evil, hating, exploitive or demonic?
Also your theory doesn’t explain the remarkable improvement in recidivism rates among some participants in chemical castration. Relieved of the sexual compulsion, they go about their lives without a desire to dominate and humiliate others.
I am perfectly willing to agree it is abnormal, sick and perverted sex, but that the drive is mainly sexual is pretty obvious to anyone who thinks about it. Many serial rapists are unable to function sexually in a more normal way.
Because the sex drive is intrinsic. That it exists is not a quality cultivated of character, but how it is regarded and managed is.
When the government does not protect the people from criminals, or worse, takes the side of the criminals against the people, vigilantism results.
