Chemical or surgical castration has proved remarkably successful in preventing recidivism in some American states and a lot of foreign countries, particularly for child molesters. In some cases, recidivism rates have gone from over 90% to under 10%. In US at least I believe most cases have been voluntary.

IMO this blows a major hole in the theory that rape and molestation have “nothing to do with sex,” but instead with power and domination. Obviously rapists are into domination, but that’s all tangled up with sex for them. Compulsive sexual behavior can apparently be significantly reduced by castration, at least for those individuals who sincerely don’t want to behave that way.

Rape is mental, not sexual. Rape is to humiliate the victim. the perp gets his jollies from the act of humiliating said victim. As long as he can get his hands on a broomstick or any other long round object, he is back in business.

Lasting foolproof therapy for rapists? A .45 between the eyes from about four feet away. Woks every time, even on child molesters.
