I’m also saying that the power of DO is the way you take care of the requirement of DON’T. It is an automatic corollary.

You still have a mind half sapped by Satan’s naysaying. You are still half in religion.

We’re afraid to venture into the power of DO because of the fear that we might slip and commit a DON’T, especially as we treat an area of bad sin. That’s Satan’s discouraging game and he plays it a lot on fundies. (I’m a fundie too.)

What we often do NOT see... (and actually Catholics are sometimes in a better position to employ it in principle because they actually have formal confession and absolution which is supposed to be a mirror of God’s under the direction of the Holy Spirit, they have glorified men in the body of doctrines surrounding the process which is wrong, but the abuse does not take away the use) ... when we believe we get an absolutely FOOLPROOF safety net. God says yes, go where you risk falling! Because you’ll get back up and ride that horse even better next time! He promises!

I.e. the don’ts really are not part of the cake, to use your own analogy! They are only the framework into which the cake is intended to fit when finished. Like Luther said... “sin boldly” (actually, risk sinning if you are unsure but you have a godly purpose in mind). God says to TEST His will... testing implies some kind of trial-and-error process... really we Christians are very loath to trust God’s power in this. God weeps.

Read the title of the article which was being commented on. It is not complex beyond what I said in my first comment. Over and out.

Go ahead and “over and out” to me if you must. But do not do that to God. I just shined you some very concentrated light. It’s up to you to use it or to refuse it.

By the way if you are trying to insinuate that I’m looking to excuse... NO. But the way Christ gets around excuses is by REDEEMING. Capturing every spiritual resource that was used in the sin... filling it up with LIGHT... and turning it to beautiful, beautiful righteousness with all sin cleansed and forgiven. One exhibit is Paul who wrote a lot of the New Testament we have.

Do not dodge God. Please. Don’t keep Him at arms length with religion where the don’ts are half the picture. The dont’s matter, but the glorious DO’s are where God puts the energy and the result passes the test of the dont’s.

Get it????

OK, here I am looking at your first comment.

True enough as far as it goes — you have showed us a shadowgram. However let’s see this occasion as an opportunity to show God’s power. Anyone can tell anyone else that they are wrong. How many can furnish someone else the power (if they will accept) to turn from wrong to RIGHT? And yes God is holding you responsible if you have Christ in you and you refuse to use Christ to do just that!

And you may think by now I am badgering you mercilessly to glorify myself... or maybe to stave off boredom...

NO I AM NOT...

I see you and God sees you as a wonderful RESOURCE...

DO YOU KNOW HOW POWERFUL SONG AND MUSIC IS...

Don’t let Satan nip your sails off with naysaying. The whole story of God here is a glorious “yes, BUT!” YES, there’s sin! BUT, I’m gracious beyond belief! I want to act if you will permit Me to! Get beyond your “Churchianity!” I will be your personal saving Christ!

I was not going to reply but I will. And I ask you that you not reply back with expectations of me replying. Enthusiasm can be infectious or annoying. Yours has become annoying.

When you say in your last sentence.."I will be your personal saving Christ". You did not use italicized notation, and it looks like you reference yourself. YOU are not my (nor anyones) saving Christ. I hope your comment was simply a grammar problem. I am going to cede that to you in hopes that your comment referenced the Virgin-born, Son of God, the one and only God-man. The perfect man, completely man, completely God, who lived the Mosaic law, who was delivered up ( willingly) to die for the sins of anyone who would accept his blood atonement. Who was scourged, beaten, crucified, and died.....and RESURRECTED, conquering death, hell, sin, the devil , and the grave. Who will come back to this world in rightous judgement. That Person is the Bible's revelation of Jesus of Nazareth who took away my sin.....certainly not you.

Churchianity??????? I won't dignify that inane comment with any retort except to say it sound like one of those shadows you are majoring on.

"Nip my sails"????????Another shadow you prescribe against.

"BUT! YES there's sin"????????Isn't that the entire reason Jesus came to redeem us from our sin....even that of the homosexual. Somehow these shadows seem to have some importance, that He would do that. He didn't come because we are so good. He came in spite of ourselves. Because HE is Love.

Now, let's agree to leave it here.

I am quoting what God says... I do not mean HTRN... that should be MORE than obvious... I do not reply with expectation of your replying but I reply to set the record here straight in public.

Please do not blaspheme God because I was unclear.

NO I WILL NOT LEAVE IT HERE WHEN YOU MISREPRESENT ME. I AM SPEAKING THE TRUTH THAT CHRIST SPEAKS, AS MESSENGER NOT AS THE ORIGINATING PARTY! NOW GOD BLESS YOU EVEN THOUGH YOU DO NOT WANT IT.

Gordon Gano, The lead singer of the Violent Femmes declared his Born again status a number of years ago. He toured with the same band and had a number of songs that no body wanted to hear.

Everybody wanted them to play their classics.

It is my understanding, but I could be wrong, that it was the Bass player that wrote most of the Violent Femmes stuff back in the day.

I am or was a fan of their music. For a three piece band to put out so much sound is still amazing.

I never thought of them having a homosexual agenda, overtones in one song yes, but an agenda ?

Much like the Doors for me. While I can accept that Morrison experimented with the occult, I don’t believe he actually was a devil worshiper etc..

Most of what I hear from them is literally a test of their audience and what their audience will follow.

After all, Jim Morrison called his audience a bunch of slaves. He knew the game.

I don’t mean to pile on, however I would like to point you to this interview with Jim Morrison from 1970.

It’s very likely that he was drunk when he gave this interview, but he is extremely deliberate with his words.

Very prophetic for 1970.

Media and culture.

His thoughts about sexual repression, historically may have been true, but have become the complete 180 of what we see today. This part he got wrong. I don’t think he thought the left would use sexual freedom to destroy capitalism.

It is 26 minutes, but very well worth it.
