JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Casting House Republicans as stubborn deadbeats, President Barack Obama sought Thursday to discredit House Republicans in upcoming fiscal fights by painting them as roadblocks to a thriving middle class.

“Shutting down the government just because I’m for keeping it open — that’s not an economic plan,” Obama said, wiping sweat from his face in a muggy port warehouse. “Threatening that you won’t pay the bills in this country, when we’ve already racked up those bills, that’s not an economic plan — that’s just being a deadbeat.”

I guess it probably dawned on Barry that maybe the “deadbeat” Republicans might be ashamed of stealing OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY (some of which aren’t even born yet) like some two bit Chicago street thug and giving that money to their friends to buy their votes.
Sometimes I think the conservatives just need to go on strike for 10 years and let the Dims own their own failure.
Let me explain what a “dead beat” is for those of you in Loma Linda. It is a welfare parasite on”earned income tax credit” and food stamps and medicaid and methamphetamine and crop insurance. You cant make up these parasites while the rest of us work.
Let me suggest that you demand that the government shut down. It will be our happy happy day.

Obama hit the debt ceiling months ago. And he’s still borrowing and spending, contrary to the law.

This is all theater put on for the masses by the governing elites. The Republicans will pretend to be concerned about the debt and Obama will bash them. Ultimately the limit will be lifted and Obama (with the help of the press )will deride the Republicans for putting the nation through turmoil. McCain will probably play the role of the great compromiser once again. The GOP will once again look stupid.
I’ve seen this show too many times. The acting is still bad no matter how many times the players go on stage.

You’re absolutely correct. I used to think differently, that we had TWO parties, but we don’t. Republicans pretend to represent an opposition to Democrat/Leftists/Progressives but it’s just an act. Just look at the calls for donations by both parties when they seemingly clash. I’ve never in my life seen the ‘Progressives’ come away from negotiations with Republicans empty handed.
Are we actually selling the new debt, we’re issuing? Or are we just pretending to sell it?
