Former GOP Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell Told Her Tax Records Were Breached
The Washington Times ^ | Wednesday, July 17, 2013 | Ben Wolfgang and Dave Boyer

More than two years after her upstart Senate campaign rocked the Delaware political world, Christine O’Donnell got an unexpected contact from a U.S. Treasury Department agent warning that her private tax records may have been breached.

The phone message earlier this year shocked the battled-scarred candidate, a tea party favorite who knocked off Republican mainstay Michael Castle in the primary before losing in a bid to win Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s former seat.

“Ms. O’Donnell, this is Dennis Martel, special agent with the U.S. Department of Treasury in Baltimore, Md. … We received information that your personal federal tax info may have been compromised and may have been misused by an individual,” he said in the January message left on her cellphone.

For Ms.’Donnell, the message immediately raised red flags.

On March 9, 2010, the day she revealed her plan to run for the Senate in a press release, a tax lien was placed on a house purported to be hers and publicized. The problem was she no longer owned the house. The IRS eventually blamed the lien on a computer glitch and withdrew it.

Now Martel, a criminal investigator for the Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration, was telling her that an official in Delaware state government had improperly accessed her records on that very same day.

Beyond that, Ms. O’Donnell and Senate investigators who have tried to help her have run into a wall of silence, leaving more questions than answers about whether abuses of the IRS system extend to private individuals and not just the tax-exempt groups already identified as victims.

“I don’t know. And I’d like to know,” Ms. O’Donnell told The Washington Times in her first interview about the case. “Because whether it’s one, eight or 80 [cases], it’s an abuse of power...

“She continues to fight to get the lien removed from her credit records.”

And why in heaven’s name hasn’t THAT been taken care of yet?!

This is far worse than Watergate. Nixon would have won the election in 1972 with or without Watergate.

0bama and his team stole the election in 2012. The media acted criminally before and after the election and have given this scandal no time whatsoever and it deserves full media attention until we get the individuals behind it behind bars for a very long time.

I wouldn’t put it past a republican for doing it to her.

I loved her until she did that stupid “I am not witch” video. Rove had nothing to do with that mess!

Yep, she’s a conservative and I hoped she would win the seat. She would have been a reliable vote. She did have some questionable history but beyond that she was flaky. I knew she was flaky within 30 seconds of tuning in and hearing Levin interview her. This was without knowing who she was or anything about her. By the end of the interview I knew she was doomed to lose, because I knew there was something about her personality that would make people not want to have her representing them. The MSM and the GOPe just had to reinforce what was already pretty evident: that she was flaky.

You do realize all the Founders were flaky,non-conformists,yraitors,and terrorists...at least in the eyes of the establishment.

Better a flaky O’Donnell than whatever ‘Rat liberal baby-killer got the seat.

While the GOP savages all true conservatives, and the true conservatives demand elusive perfection in their candidates, the party elites in Washington live royally at our expense. And they enable obama to destroy the nation he has hated all his miserable life.

There are no longer any other options - we waited too long, and lost the country to the enemy. We are now occupied. That’s the raw fact and truth, if you can handle it.

Sorry, I don't buy your "extreme" view. The IDEA is not anywhere near lost yet, but there is no doubt our society is crumbling.

Well, his own country and most of Europe refused to buy Churchill’s ‘extreme’ views of the NAZIs during the early and mid-thirties either.

You cannot win a war if you refuse to recognize the reality of the battlefield you find yourself on.

Oh, and the ‘idea’ - IS being lost. More than half the country wants the MarxoFascist state and as the welfare rolls grow, so too diminishes the ‘idea’.
Hell, Conservatives in the country cannot agree on the definition of liberty much less what the ‘idea’ is supposed to be.

Those of us who still espouse the ‘idea’ are already determined to be the domestic ‘extremists’ and terrorists according to the State and it’s media, and each day finds more and more “Conservatives” siding with the Left against us.

Then why do we even have a Republican party and why do you have a job, Mr. Rove?

This should be a bigger story than it is.

Also, I want to know who at the IRS approved Obama’s half-brother's charity?

“Well Ms. O’Donnell if you don’t join the ACLJ’s suit against the IRS and do nothing...don’t expect anything.”

She is doing something. She is bringing this story to light. Besides the Dems, Karl Rowe and his buddies want to keep her quiet.

I'm glad she is vocal. Her case is different and she shouldn't have to sue to get the government to do something. They illegally obtained her tax records and planted false information in her files during a campaign. Her case is worse than the others and strikes at the heart of our election process

Well “our” side is sending as many jobs overseas as possible.

Just saying.

It’s hard to defend that. I think that is the reason the GOP is having difficulties in the last few elections.

To tell the truth.

Bring back US jobs now.

I had no idea that Karl Rove forced Christine O’Donnell to make that “I’m not a witch” video. Did he produce it too?
