SANFORD -- After five weeks of trial and 56 witnesses, few legal observers believed prosecutors came close to proving Sanford neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman committed second-degree murder when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin in February 2012.
So for many legal analysts, it was no surprise that jurors rejected even a lesser

They didn’t have a case they had political and racial motives and hoped to snooker a jury into using emotion not law.
there was never a case to prove
Corey should be disbarred. What a travesty.
Was there a case to prove? A milk keg girlfriend-witness told it all.
this author makes thegf out as a great witness. She could not read her own letter.
They had no choice. There was no actual evidence to support the charge.
There was give and take as far as so-called diversity... it might have been mostly white, but OTOH, it was all-women... and many a GZ-supporter thought it might go the other way for various reasons (woman jury equals more weight to fact-less emotion-laden case, and most if not all with kids might identify with TM's mom).
But, in the end, it was NOT about race or gender. It was about the 2A, it was about self-defense, and, at the same time, it was about a short timeline - perhaps the 30 seconds prior to the gunshot and GZ's frame of mind.
Facts means nothing to them, it has to go from the heart, not your brain. What was always an idea of both propaganda and show trial as a form of it.
This needs to be repeated again, and again, and again.
I tried to comment to them, but could not find a forum. My major complaint was against Whorealdo, who made a big point that George was only found “not guilty”, not “innocent”.
Juries never find defendants innocent. They cannot. Not only is it not their job, it is not within their power. They can only find them “not guilty.” Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
FOX lost lots of points with me today. Wish I could figure out a way to threaten them.
If one is concerned about crime in ones neighborhood that shows “ill will”!
This is soo perverted.
...few legal observers believed prosecutors came close to proving Sanford neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman committed second-degree murder...
Ladies and gentlemen, I hereby nominate that statement for the Deeply Insightful Observation of the Week award.
HLN was worse yesterday.
They kept referring to Martin as a child and showing images of him as a child and their jurors...biased. I had to turn the channel.
Mark O’Mara’s press conference statement was absolutely 100% spot-on! The prosecution was disgraceful, all the way from hide the skittles (pot, Watermelon Ice Tea) to guns, school trouble, unexplained jewelry etc.
It was a pathetic kabuki show where it thought it only need equate “effing punks” to “black” and VOILA, a race-baiting race trial. Their anger and so-called ‘passion’ was about as good a performance as my three year old grand daughter saying “I didn’t take the cookies” with chocolate chip smudges on her fingers. Utterly embarrassing.
That said, I would like to say one thing with regard to Angela Corey. I don’t know much about her troubles in this, and she certainly looks like a jovial old Aunt Bee from her appearance. But her press conference yesterday was what I’d consider a masterpiece in performance. Always smiling, quick and ready with reasonable answers (even if you didn’t agree), polite and very good with the press corps and media reps. Others could take this style as an example.
I was flabbergasted yesterday when Fox anchor had Susan Esterich and what I can only describe as a frigging quack, Candice Delong, a former FBI agent/profiler (very famous if you Google her).
Delong was totally off the charts on accusations, dumbass statements, contradictions within them, and was finally cut off in midsentence with no explanation. What a fruit ball! Incredible.
If this zealot is an example of a typical FBI functionary, it is no wonder why many consider the FBI as an enemy of its people.
Awell-spoken NAZI is still gonna bite
FOX Radio carried the full press conferences live last night for an hour and half plus: the persecutors, Crump and the DEFENSE. The Defense ripped the persecuting press and the state persecutors new Obamas in his forthright denunciations of them.
Listened to the whole thing: Luck to GZ and the defense lawyers.
GOD BLESS AND PROTECT THE WOMEN ON THAT JURY.
